📦 WHY DO WE JUMP ON BOXES? 🦘🔥

Today’s workout included lateral box jumps — because jumping is about a lot more than just getting your heart rate up!

💥 Explosive Power — Train your muscles to produce force quickly.

❤️ Conditioning — Challenge your heart and lungs.

🦵 Tendon & Bone Health — Build capacity through progressive impact and loading.

🧠 Proprioception — Improve your body’s awareness of position and movement.

👀 Coordination & Balance — Challenge your ability to control your body in space.

💧 Lymphatic Flow — Dynamic movement and muscle contractions help circulate lymph fluid, supporting fluid balance and immune function.

↔️ Lateral Movement — Develop athleticism beyond just moving forward and backward.

⚡ Reactivity — Train your body to absorb force, stabilize, and transition into the next movement.

🎯 Real-World Athleticism — Build the physical capabilities that carry over beyond the gym.

We don't just train muscles. We train movement, coordination, and capability.

That's the beauty of CrossFit. Every movement has a purpose. 💪

Join West Chester Ruck Club as we participate in the All Secure Foundation Mogadishu Mile

The Mogadishu Mile honors a defining moment from the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu that demonstrated extraordinary bravery, resilience, and camaraderie among U.S. service members. After an intense battle left troops trapped in hostile territory, soldiers were forced to make a dangerous trek on foot, under enemy fire, to reach safety; that trek became known as the Mogadishu Mile. This battle would later be portrayed in the movie Black Hawk Down.

Our ruck will honor their courage and sacrifice by bringing our community together to carry the weight, embrace the challenge, and remember the men who made that journey.

What might Crossfit for older people look like?

✔️ Appropriate weights
✔️ Paying attention to movement quality
✔️ Giving clear instruction
✔️ Modifying difficulty to suit every individual while challenging to get better... hey... 🤔

Wait a minute... that sounds like... what happens in ALL our classes 😃
