I super celebrate her life because 13 days from now, a few years ago 🙃 she sacrificed her life, to give me life. And willingly, continually sacrificed her wants and needs for my needs, our needs.

At 2:08AM on 7.26.98, I was blessed to have birthed ONE of my 3 most prized possessions in this world. (Happy birth day to me! lol)👶🏾

Not that I "owned" her but I was "possessed" by the reality that she depended on me for life, sustenance, prayers, care, nurture, protection, love, wisdom, strength, grace and so, so much more. 🤗

I was "possessed" by my desire to be the best I could be at motherhood, because the best was given to me:

The best that HEAVEN had to offer me was Christ, and I received Him.✝️

The best that this EARTH had to offer me was MY mother, and I adore her. 🌍

The best I could offer MY daughter was ME. And even at my very best I felt it wasn't enough; that was humbling.😔

I quickly realized this was much bigger than me; THIS was a "GOD JOB" and I could Not do it without Him. 💪🏿

Ever since that realization I have been in deep, humble, submissive prayer over this little one. Its been 27 years now, and He has done an amazing work in both of us, and He's not done yet!!😁

Our relationship has matured as she has matured 😍! And yet, She will ALWAYS, and in ALL WAYS be the 1st...of my 3...most prized possessions. 🎂🍸🎊Happy 27th Birthday Babygirl!!!

My doctor recommended dance 💃🏾 I chose Samba!

This recommendation came in addition to chiropractic care and physical therapy to help with the coordination issues from my brain injury

I thought,

“Sure… how hard can it be?”

Then I met Brazilian Samba and realized my brain still thinks left is right and right is… “let’s sit this one out.” 😓

Spoiler alert: I absolutely would fail the viral #sambawhisk trend

—
BUT thanks to the amazing Brazilian Dance Company, @brazildanceco I’ve been able to trust the process, stay consistent with a full year of movement therapy, and actually see real progress!

So no whisk yet, but I can show y’all how movement is medicine @graceforyourjourney even when your feet (and brain) don’t always agree!

TEMECULA, WE BROUGHT THE HEAT! 🔥🎭💃🏽

Last night, the Brazilian Dance Company @brazildanceco turned the Old Town Blues Club @oldtownbluesclub into a full-on Mardi Gras celebration! With a touch of samba magic 🪄

From the moment the drums hit, the energy was electric—we had the whole place jumping, feet moving, and spirits soaring!

We got EVERYBODY out of their seats and into a Conga line, bringing that true Second Line energy straight to the Inland Empire. The music, the moves, the magic—THIS is what Fat Tuesday is all about!

Huge love to the dancers, musicians, and every single person who brought their joy to the dance floor. Temecula, you SHOWED UP! 💜💛💚

Who’s ready to do it all again next year?!

Happy Fat Tuesday, everyone! 🎭✨

From @brazildanceco

Tonight was pure magic as I had the absolute joy of being a roadie and support for the Brazilian Dance Company at the Old Town Blues Club in Temecula!

From the infectious rhythms to the mesmerizing samba moves, they brought an electric, fire-filled performance that had the whole room vibing. The energy, the music, the sheer artistry—it was a night to remember!

Carnival spirit was alive and well, and I loved every second of being behind the scenes, helping bring the magic to life. Sending all the love and high vibes to the dancers and musicians who made the night unforgettable!

Wishing you all a joyous, colorful, and rhythm-filled Fat Tuesday—however you celebrate, may it be full of love, laughter, and a little bit of samba in your step! 💃🏽🥁✨

May is recognized as Africa Month across many African countries to commemorate the establishment of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) on May 25, 1963.

The OAU was replaced by the African Union (AU) in 2002, but May 25 is still celebrated as Africa Day to honor the OAU's formation.

KLAMAN & CO hosted a beautiful Africa Day Celebration! KLAMAN means “beauty” or “sophistication” in the Akan language, a royal West African people originating from Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire.

The founder of KLAMAN & CO, Johanne, was
Born in Montreal, Canada and raised in Cote d'Ivoire. Johanne identified a significant industry gap—an absence of authentic experiences reflecting the true essence of African cultural richness.

The vision of KLAMAN & CO is to become the preeminent platform for African cultural representation in California and beyond. It envisions a future where the beauty of cultural authenticity is celebrated, shared, and embraced by diverse communities. ❤️🖤💚
