Chicago Marathon 2026

1,850th out of 55,000+ and 461st in age group (25-29)

One of the toughest races of my life. I came in chasing sub 2:30 after some of my biggest training weeks at 85-95 miles. I felt great through halfway in 1:14:30, a half marathon PR, and was ready to pick up the pace, but the heat had other plans.

I cramped, walked, and stopped so many times I lost count. Once I knew my goal was out of reach, all I cared about was finishing. I crossed the line in 2:51:24. Not the result I trained for, but I'm proud I kept going. Letting go of the clock allowed me to take in the atmosphere and appreciate the experience, even through the tough moments.

More than anything, I'm grateful to still be running as much as I do and taking on challenges like this. Had an amazing time with friends, made memories that will last a lifetime, and learned a lot along the way. See you soon Chicago.

Thanks AZ for being the best place I’ve ever lived and my very favorite place on earth. 🥹🌵🏜️

And thanks to @sha_lay_la for bringing me out here and to GCU for giving me the opportunity to start my coaching career and help coach some lovely humans along the way. And to my desert and mountain friends: I love you and will miss you very much 🥺

Will forever be a desert rat at heart, but for now, next up: Florida!🌴🌊

August: apparently was filled with baseball, racing, pool time and lots of x training and miles with friends!
It’s always fun to look back upon your month and reflect on how much we actually accomplish when we’re too busy to notice it in the moment. 🫶

Highlights include: trip to Cooperstown with Riley, Grit camp with Chicago ladies, solo workouts and grind, quick pool hotel getaway with the kids, coaching, upping my power cross training game💪
Non highlights: falling and hurting my knee, seeing Will but then him leaving😭
