Over the past month I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet so many new faces across our area, from Cross Timbers District Fun Day to Oil Belt, Pecan Valley, and Wichita Districts Greenhand Camps, and finally wrapping up with our Area IV Greenhand Camp these past few days.

43 workshops and many miles later, I am proud to say that the future of Area IV is so so bright.

It’s always a great day to be back home. Thank you to the current Area IV officers Rhett, Triton, Leah, Marley, Eric, Eli, Emma, Hudson, Kynlee, Audrey, Maggie, and Brystal for thinking of me and allowing me to come home and surprise some of the people who built me into who I am today. I was more than happy to return to Greenhand Camp and gift Mr. Long, Mrs. Tittor, and Riley Farris with signed apparel. I wish all of you the best during your year of service and keep pushing forward. I love the Texas FFA Area IV and everything we stand for.

Texas FFA where do I even begin. What a blessing it is to be able to serve all 175,000 of you this year as your Texas FFA Area V State Vice President. There have been so many prayers leading up to this point and I can’t wait to see what we do this year.

I would like to start off by sending the biggest thanks to Royse City FFA. Y’all have been my biggest supporters. The ag teachers and members at Royse City have been one of the biggest blessings I could ever ask for from every contest, project, and competitions. I can’t thank them enough for what we’ve accomplished.

Area V yall’s never ending support has made more of an impact than you will ever know. I am beyond excited that y’all have trusted me in representing Area V this year!

Brennan, you have been one of my biggest supporters. You served Texas FFA perfectly and I can’t wait to follow in your footsteps over this next year.

Remember Philippians 2:3–5 (NIV):
ā€œDo nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.ā€

I can’t wait to serve Texas FFA over this next year! If you ever need anything I am always here to help! Let’s make it an impactful year!

Texas FFA, I will always run to you

You have changed my life in ways I didn’t even think were possible. You taught me how to love deeper, how to find joy in the unexpected, and what a servant’s heart truly looks like. The goodness of the Lord was revealed to me through every member I was blessed to meet, every chapter that welcomed me in, and every struggle that deepened my strength and trust in Him. I would not be the person I am today without the members, teammates, and ag teachers that have been by my side throughout this journey. Thank you for sharing your love, joy, kindness, peace, patience, and gentleness with me in every circumstance, I hope I have been able to give you an ounce of that in return.

Remember to run to the people and places that ground you in purpose. Run to the things that set your soul on fire. Run to your home. Texas FFA, you’ll always be mine.

I'm not done shining and neither are you...

As a new chapter begins in my life, I cannot express how grateful I am for the past 5 years. In my greatest moments and my worst, I found myself surrounded by people who filled me with joy and love. This past year came and went, but the memories will stick with me forever. I cherish every moment with my chapter, ag teachers, each member, my family, and my 11 teammates who have become an irreplaceable part of my life.

Leaving is the hardest part of saying goodbye, but I know I'll see you again. I couldn't be more proud of Louden, who has the biggest heart and I hope each of you get to know him and be his joy the way you were for me.

So Texas FFA, thank you for saving me. You gave me hope when I was hopeless, love when I felt empty, and you shined your light for me when I was in complete darkness. I thank God that He blessed me with you.

Texas FFA,

372 days. Nearly 300 schools. 40,000 miles. 180,000 members. Numbers, however, cannot begin to describe a year that was nothing short of life changing.

This year was truly the greatest honor. I always knew that as a state officer, I hoped to make an impact. What I didn’t know was how each and every one of you would impact me so much more. You welcomed me into your schools, into your homes, but most importantly, into your hearts. You shared your beautiful journeys and listened to mine in return. You allowed me to learn and laugh with you even on the hard days. You showed me that you don’t have to be perfect to be loved, you just have to be you. While these words aren’t enough, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

To my team: Laine, Kinley, Cody, Jud, Brennan, Tucker, Ciara, Brady, Pops, Maddie, and Lyli. Thank you for showing me what it truly means when friends become family. You have sat by me in my lowest moments and celebrated with me in my highest. You have each contributed something so special to my life and I can’t wait to carry you with me into this next adventure.

Although it’s time for me to hang up this jacket, I want to remind you of something: your dragonflies. Every day, in every moment, look for your dragonflies, your joy when you think there is none. The amount of joy in your life is completely dependent on your ability to seek it, so choose today to start the search. Once you find them, don’t let go, they’re far too precious to lose.

The Lord blessed me abundantly this year, but my biggest blessing is you, Texas FFA, so thank you.

Thank you for believing in me.

Thank you for being my home.

And thank you for being my dragonflies. I pray that at some point, I was able to be one of yours.

With all my love,
2025-2026 Texas FFA State President

ā€œIf you’re gonna be a bear, be a grizzlyā€

This year has been nothing short of the best of my life. This year gave me a lot of miles, late nights, memories, and most importantly friends that turned into family. The day that seemed so impossibly far away when I hung up the blue and gold corduroy came and went, but the impact the jacket left on me will be something that stays with me for a life time. I couldn’t have asked for a better home to be a part of, and a better team to share it with.

Thank you, Texas FFA.

Those words are the only ones that come close to the gratitude I possess for each and every single one of you. When I zipped up my first blue jacket almost 6 years ago, I had absolutely no idea where it would take me.

It was through each and every chapter visit, Greenhand Camp, Area Leadership Conference, and conversation that I learned not only who I was, but who I wanted to become.

This year has been one of my greatest blessings, and I am forever grateful that I said ā€œyesā€ to my very first creed contest, because, after all, it made me who I am today.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you for 11 of my absolute best friends. It is because of all 180,000 of you that I call them family. Laine, Kinley, Cody, Jud, Brennan, Ciara, Brady, Riley, Pops, Maddie, and Lyli, thank you all for being my biggest cheerleaders and strongest support system. You all will never be far from my heart.

Texas FFA, thank you for taking a chance on a kid from small East Texas town, but more importantly, thank you for changing my life.

With love,
Tucker Smith

I spent a lot of this year thinking about stories. The ones we inherit, the ones we write, and the ones we never realize we’re living until we reach the final page. Looking back, I can see God’s hand in so many of the details. Every mile, late night, tearful goodbye, uncontrollable laugh, and little moment in between became a part of something much bigger than I could see at the time.

To the people who filled these pages with me, thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your stories and listening to mine. The title of ā€œState Officerā€ was an incredible honor, but getting to love and serve the people behind the blue jackets was the greatest gift this year gave me. I pray that in some small way, I was a faithful steward of the story God trusted me to tell.

The chapter may be closed, but I know the story isn’t over. I don’t know what is written on the pages ahead, but I know I can trust the Author. So I’ll carry these memories, these people, and this year with me into all that comes next. I’m grateful for every word on every page.

Texas FFA, the book of your life has been masterfully written. So together let’s share our story!🫶

Love,
Your 2025-26 Texas FFA State Vice President
