🌱Presenting…Future Utopia Exhibition: 0.1
Launch event 7th - 8pm - 1am (tix in bio) 8th onwards for exhibition 🕵️🌍👀

We’re so excited to announce this upcoming exhibition! The Woom Room is occupying The Loading Bay skatepark from 07-13th November, bringing you a series of immersive, utopic artworks by Scotland-based artists.

But at the center of this exhibition, we’re asking YOU a question:

Enter the ✨harmony pod✨ to answer: “What do you want from a future Utopia?” We’re asking Glasgow to imagine a positive future. What happens when, despite the doom and gloom headlines, we dare to imagine a utopic future? What possibilities do we unlock?

Your answers will be submitted to Dr. Megan Crawford, researcher in data science and foresight at Edinburgh Napier University. The data gathered will go on to inform a report submitted to the agencies in power.

This exhibition is one of three exhibitions over the coming months. In exhibition 0.1, your answers will plant the seeds 🌱 In exhibition 02-03, we’ll watch them grow…

Tickets are available 🎟️

New menu photos for @antojitostruck at @the78bar in Glasgow… lots of new dishes on this menu and I can confirm they’re v v goooood 🌮✨

I have been the biggest Antojitos fan since their nice n sleazy days & they’ve been a client of mine for years now, they’re even catering my wedding - that’s how much I love them 😎

Have a swipe through to see some of the new dishes on the menu at The 78, there’s a new kids menu too, and gluten free buns for the burgers will be in soon 🤝🍔

My new faves are the burgers, queso dumplings, birria and pineapple tacos (obvs), nachos and the fries are so so tasty - basically you can’t go wrong with what you order lol

Arabic Games Night: Yallah, pull up a chair? 👀🧿♟️

For one evening, we brought the Arab living room to Manchester.

We had it all - tawla and chess from the amazing guys at @checkmate.mcr, beautiful drinks where £1 from each was donated to charity, harissa snacks from @getlusa , olives, Arabic music and many, many debates on where does the best shawarma in Manchester.

There was also an upstairs exhibition highlighting The Gaza Farmland project and the importance and beauty of the initiative.

Nights like these remind us that community doesn’t end when the event does. ❤️

We’d love for you to keep showing places like @renae.mcr some love. Independent venues like this are becoming increasingly rare, and spaces that open their doors to Palestinian art, culture and community deserve to be celebrated and supported.

Thank you for being part of the community.
And thank you all of the artists who made this night a reality:

See you at the next table.

🍺 CAN I HAVE A CAN? #007

The name’s Moleman. Beer-drinking Moleman. 🍸

For my seventh contribution, @brewgooder have decided that a single can simply isn’t enough for a secret agent of my standing.

They’ve sent me a can of Off-Line West Coast IPA, a branded glass, stickers and some other lovely brewery tat. An excellent haul, and considerably more useful than an exploding pen.

The timing couldn’t be better, either. I’m heading into the Radio Northwich studios tomorrow to chat about The Great Beer Experiment and what it has turned into!

Beer: Off-Line
Brewery: Brewgooder
Style: West Coast IPA
ABV: 5.4%

Moleman verdict:
Really enjoy this beer, not the first time I’ve had it and I love that I get to have it again. It isn’t as hard punching as some others, a lot less hoppy, but that doesn’t mean it lacks flavour at all.

A huge thank you to Brewgooder for the beer, the glass and all the extras. I started this experiment hoping for the occasional can, and breweries keep finding new ways to surprise me.

007 breweries down. Licence to sip. 🍺

Ever heard of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon? The frequency illusion: spot something once, and suddenly it’s everywhere 🔍

Take a wee saunter round some of our favourite haunts in the neighbourhood, and you’ll start noticing Mirrl on the surfaces and tabletops – each one completely bespoke, with as much character as the place (and the people) it’s found in 🍦

1–3: @lagelatessa 🇮🇹
4: @shortlongblackcoffee by @rossfrasermclean ☕️
5: @thegladcafe 🍺
6: sunny bramble bush-inspired talbes at @bramble_cafe ✨
7–8: @burnfieldbakery 🥐

Once you see it, you won’t be able to unsee it 👀

Guess what our little partiers? 'Back to Mine' has been graciously sponsored by the one and only @brewgooder - leaders of Glasgow's independent craft beer movement.

You're in great quenching hands here 🚀🍻🕺
