Feels sooo surreal… Woke up this morning and yup Im a black belt! Promoted last night by my Mentor and Professor @checkmat_manila Manny Jimenez. Still trying to sink in this moment.. Black Belt! Wow! It never occurred to me that I will be a brown belt (2021) let alone a black belt (2025) In general, never thought that I’ll be here right now. I just wanted to try it out back then (2010). Something different from the usual gym activities and now 15 years later… Still here! Still doing it! WOW!!! Thank you to my teammates who without them, this wont be possible! They helped me to be a better martial artist and a better person! To My Mentor and Professor, Manny Jimenez for believing in me, for constantly beating me up and throwing me! For the jokes and laughter of me being old and his tito (uncle) lol I am proud and honored to be under your lineage! To My Dear Friends and Professors (who I still look up to) you guys shaped me! Someone who divides people, can never be a true leader. And leadership is largely about the energy you have within you and how you project it outward.
