What an amazing comp weekend!!! This year I got lucky enough to coach and choreograph our novice team Material Girls and our performance team Cover Girls this year as well as co-coaching our prep team Glamour Girls! And they came and SHOWED UP to the point of happy tears at awards!!!!

Material Girls had a little curve ball thrown at them and had 2 practice to have an athlete learn their routine due to an injury and they took it with grace! Which is not an easy thing to do at all! Some of them learned new stunting positions and if you didn’t know you would’ve thought they’ve been doing doing it like that all season long! They did amazing and not only got 1st place on both days but also got novice level champions both days and left with some fancy rings!! They have been such a delight to work with and are so hard working! One more competition for them and showcase and I cannot wait for them to go out there again!

Cover Girls is our performance team who got to compete at the Crown competition on Saturday! None of these athletes have ever competed before and you couldn’t tell! They lit up the stage and were the cutest ever! They showed up, gave it their all, and were rewarded with getting 1st place and also won rec. level champions!! The best quote from them all day was “This is my first competition and I can’t believe that we won and got rings!!!!” I can’t wait for them to show the locals their amazing routine at our showcase and I hope to see them on the mat again next year!

Glamour Girls came hungry this weekend!! They came into day 1 scoring a high score but knew they wanted to beat their season high score. They worked extra hard before competing day 2 to fix the little things from the day before that didn’t score as high. And they did exactly what they set their minds to! They crushed it and really put their all into their routine! We’re excited to keep working hard at practice for their next comp next weekend in Chicago!

So many great things to highlight from this weekend!! I’m SO PROUD of all these girls and love them so much!!

History was made this week! 📣✨
The Mavs officially became the first-ever team from MSU to compete at UCA Nationals. To say I’m proud would be an understatement. This team is 100% self-funded—they aren’t part of the athletic department’s budget, which means every registration fee, every travel cost, and even the shirts on their backs (which we hand-make to save costs!) comes from pure hustle.
A massive thank you to our incredible sponsors who stepped up to help ease the financial burden of getting to Florida. We couldn’t have done this without you.
We’re coming home with so much learned and a fire lit for next year. These girls are already hungry to get back and clinch that Day 2 spot. I love this team—they work harder than anyone I know and keep me laughing through it all. This is only the beginning of something special.
Congrats, Mavs! 💜

Join us in celebrating a historic milestone for @mnstatecheer ! 📣 This past week, the team made their debut appearance at UCA Nationals, delivering a performance that reflected months of dedication and grit. We couldn’t be more proud of what they’ve achieved.
As part of our commitment to local excellence, Power Athletics is a proud exclusive sponsor of MSU Cheer. We are thrilled to provide these athletes with the safe, high-quality training facility they need to compete at a national level. Shoutout to our owners, Bridgette and Maki, for their incredible work coaching and leading this program. The future of MSU Cheer is bright! 🌟
