Taking a moment to look back at where I’ve been before stepping into what’s next. 🤍

These photos are a few of my favorite moments from my very last time walking the Miss Massachusetts Teen USA stage. Although I am so sad to end my journey as a teen, I am beyond proud of how far I have come over these past two years.

If you had told me five years ago I would place second runner up at a Miss USA state pageant, I would have absolutely never believed you. But because I took a chance and did something that scared me, I have learned more about myself than I ever could have imagined and have become a girl I am so proud to be.

Pageantry has taught me how to love who I am no matter what, walk into a room full of strangers with confidence and tell my story, speak about the things I love in front of hundreds of people, and keep going when things don’t work out the way I had hoped. Most importantly, it has shown me how many opportunities can come from putting myself out there, even when it’s scary.

I would never be the competitor I am today without the people who have been there every step of the way. Kaet, thank you for helping me find the girl inside of me who knows how to own every room she walks into. You celebrate every win with me, no matter how small, and I can’t wait to see how far I continue to go with you by my side. And to my family, thank you for fully embracing this world with me. From traveling to Mississippi to build my dream custom gown to staying up late asking me random interview questions, I could never be more grateful for my support system.

It’s so weird knowing that I will never compete as a teen again. I’m going to miss wearing a big pink ballgown more than anything, but the girl who walked onto the Miss Massachusetts Teen USA stage for the first time in her huge hot pink ballgown two years ago is so different from the girl I am today. And that’s exactly why this journey means so much to me. I’m so proud of that girl for taking a chance, and even more proud of the person pageantry has helped me become.

As sad as I am to say goodbye to my teen years, I’m just as excited to see how far I’ll go as a miss.

See you very soon. 😉

The most amazing night of JOYOUS REBELLION! Honored to be part of Rise’s 6th Annual Survivor Fashion Show, exploring the questions “What Do Your Dreams Cost?” and “What Were You Wearing?” at the New York Stock Exchange. @risenow.us founder @amandangocnguyen brought together leaders, survivors, activists, role models and more to one of the world’s most iconic locations.

What does sexual violence cost? According to the CDC $3.1 trillion in the United States alone, with lifetime cost over $120,000 per victim.

Sexual violence also cost survivors their dreams.

Sexual assault cost me financially, but it also cost me comfort, my job, my housing, relationships with loved ones, pain, grades, almost graduation, and the ability to trust as freely as I once did, among many other costs. But it also gave me purpose, courage, and strength. Each moment of pure struggle and insurmountable agony taught me that survival can become something beautiful even when in the moment it feels so dark and endless.

The statement I hope for every survivor to say one day that I truly felt for the first time last week after many years: "The perpetrator did not win. I did."

Last night our three remarkable Miss contestants took the stage at @missusa 👑

What an honor it is to know each of you and to have been on this journey with each of you. Thank you for trusting in me all these years. For trusting in my team all these years and for working so hard to not just be great contestants, but to be great women - women of substance and grace.

Mykala, Kayshauna and Victoria - incredible job remaining true, displaying grace and representing yourself, your loved ones and your states so beautifully. I’m so proud of you three stunning, driven and brilliant women. I’m proud to be your coach and friend and I am thrilled to support and watch your reigns continue. You’re all going to do amazing things, and while this chapter of competing may have ended, there’s so much more that this life is going to bring to each of you! Wear this experience like a badge of honor. I love you all dearly 🤍

I know Dorothy says there’s no place like home but I think there’s no place like Miss RI USA. 🤍

Congratulations to @victoria_cuartas21 on your win!! I can’t wait to go to Miami with you and it was great to see your dream come true.

Bri, @adorebrianna I’ve said it before but watching you be so present and really take in all the moments that the title offered really made me so proud. You are like human sunshine. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
