I seriously trust @brittany_terhune (@thehive.cary) with my life at this point. A year ago I was in her chair in active labor (not knowing it) & this girl kept it together. Kept me from spiraling. Now she’s doing my hair for Amelia’s first birthday party and again, helping me keep it together 😭

When I say I love when couples make their wedding day feel like them, I really mean it.

The sentimental details always get me.

So when Brittany told me her grandma made her wedding dress, I immediately wanted to hear the whole story.

There’s just something so special about wearing something that was made with that much love and care by someone who means so much to you.

I thought it was only fitting to let Brittany tell the story herself…

Brittany - “When my grandma offered to make my wedding dress, it was something I simply couldn’t pass up, because honestly, how many people get to say their grandma made their wedding dress?

She has played such a huge role in my life, so getting to wear something made completely by hand by the woman who helped raise me made it that much more meaningful.

Over the last year, she spent countless hours creating not only my dress, but also my mom’s, and we kept it a surprise from everyone until the wedding day. Watching my mom realize that both of our dresses were made by her was such an emotional moment.

It made the entire day feel so personal and special, and it was such a beautiful reflection of the love and care my grandma has always poured into our entire family.”

@wakefield_films did such an amazing job documenting their wedding day. The interview with Brittany’s grandma is THE CUTEST. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a videographer with a unique approach.

I could sit here and talk about the last twenty-something years, but truly, it feels like your life is only just beginning with Noah. Seeing you step into this new chapter of your life has been so emotional and beautiful, and I couldn’t be happier for you both!

You’ve always been someone I look up to, and now watching you build a life with Noah who truly loves you just makes me so proud. Even though things are changing, you’ll always be my big sister first and my best friend. I feel so lucky to have been standing by your side and witness the most beautiful moment for you, and I’ll always be here for you no matter what. I just know your marriage is going to be filled with so much love, happiness, and everything you both deserve.

We may not share the same last name anymore, but being your little sister is something that will never change. I couldn’t imagine a life without my big sister. I love you both so much and can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you!!
