Thank you to everyone who has sent beautiful messages and condolences. I have been grieving my sweet girl since receiving her diagnosis and again when I learned that palliative care was her only option and have continued to as I’ve watched her decline. The last week with her was the hardest and she finally let me know she was ready and passed peacefully in my arms. It doesn’t make the pain any less but I am relieved to know she is no longer suffering. Losing her just over a year of my Arrow and with Leo having cancer in the summer has been an unfathomable pain. I cherish everyday I am blessed to live alongside my babies and a world without them is dark and gray. They are my lights and greatest loves. Give your babies extra hugs and kisses from me today. 🖤

My heart is shattered.💔
Somewhere in another timeline our hearts still beat alongside each other. For now, two pieces of my heart belong to two babies I can’t hold anymore.
If I could have taken years off of my life and given them to you, I would have. 💔

I am taking a social media break for a while.
I am honestly not doing well watching Hazel decline and every day am questioning when the right time is going to be for her. Some nights are really hard. She’s restless and panting and no amount of snuggles can ease her mind. Other days she is spunky, tail wagging, and devouring food. I don’t want to take her beautiful life too soon and I also don’t want her to suffer. I’m praying she gives me a sign when she’s ready and I’ve spoken to enough vet offices and an at home euthanasia team to have a plan in case we’re in an urgent situation v peacefully being able to pass at home with her brothers.

This is scraping open old wounds of Arrow passing last year which is making this even heavier for me.

My head space has been incredibly dark and sad and angry and poetry is bleeding the pain out of me but it’s still not enough. My anxiety is at an all time high.

I have a signing here in Nashville at the Millennium Hotel Maxwell House on Saturday, 10/24, and am going to do my best to be present for you all, but I apologize in advance if I appear withdrawn. It’s been difficult to mask. I’m so grateful to attend but right now life feels like a dense fog that I’m just trying to breathe through everyday.

I had hoped to have Sugar out by now. I got two thirds written but haven’t been able to write about love while my heart is shattering.

All that to say, it is exhausting feeling so much and I have spent my life offering so much grace to others but right now I need to offer that same grace to myself. So I send you all my love, while I take a step away from this space. 🖤

Grieving a living being that you love with every fiber in your body is one of the most heart shattering things we do as humans 🖤 #grief #grieving

Loneliness became a cage and I carved peace into the caverns of it.

Spend a rainy day with me (and book husband) checking out @theopenshelfbooks Mt. Juliet’s indie bookstore!
Of course the first stop was @readyteddyscoffee for a caffeine fix.

Megan has done so much work making the bookstore adorable, welcoming and oh so cozy.

The vibes? Amazing
The selection? Amazing
The owner? AMAZING
And when I saw that handmade bat mug? Instant buy.

I can guarantee you’ll catch me camping out on one of the green sofas working on my next book(if she’ll let me 😉)

I’m so incredibly proud and excited for Megan and The Open Shelf. And equally grateful because she’s been a champion and hype girl not only for me and my books but for so many of my amazing friends as well.

Tag a friend you’d love to hang out in this bookstore with!

If you’re in the area (or even just visiting) go check out The Open Shelf
13260 Lebanon Rd Ste A,
Mt. Juliet, TN 37122

LADIES, wear whatever the fuck you want. Whenever the fuck you want. Last time I checked our shorts don’t 🍇 anyone. Our bodies are ours. Not to be touched unless consent is given. Not to be ogled for worthless scum to have an opinion or vulgar remark to be made. The Bible says if the eyes causes a person to sin, they should gouge it out and throw it away. 🍴 I’d be happy to supply the cutlery.
