Forget ghosts, goblins, and haunted houses. 💀🎃

Because nothing gets your heart racing quite like an unexpected call from your oncologist, a new random ache, or seeing test results pop up in MyChart. 👻

And while we can laugh about some of these things (because dark humor is practically a survival skill at this point), the reality is that survivorship comes with fears that don’t magically disappear when treatment ends.

Sometimes the scariest things are the ones nobody else can see.

What’s something scarier than Halloween that only someone who’s been through breast cancer would understand?

Wrong answers, dark humor, and painfully relatable experiences are ALL welcome 😂💀

I’ll go first… “Your test results have been released to MyChart.”

“Sometimes it feels like you survived cancer, but now you have to learn how to live.”*👑

Queen Julie was diagnosed at 29 with Triple Negative Breast Cancer while pregnant.

For Julie, one of the hardest parts of survivorship came after the part everyone expected to be the hardest was over.

“I wish more people understood that survivorship can actually be one of the hardest parts of cancer. During treatment, you’re so focused on surviving that you don’t always have time to process what’s happening to you. Then treatment ends, everyone expects you to go back to “normal,” but you don’t feel like the person you were before.”

There was still trauma to process. Fear of recurrence. A relationship with her body and her life that needed to be rebuilt.

For Julie, part of Restore has been learning that she doesn’t have to make those feelings smaller.

“At BreastRest, I learned that it’s okay to take up space.”

“It’s okay to talk about it. It’s okay to feel everything and give yourself the space to release those emotions instead of constantly trying to push them away.”

And slowly, she’s learning to trust herself again.

“I’m proud that I’ve learned to trust myself. I’ve learned that I’m going to be okay, even in the moments when I don’t feel like I will be.”

That doesn’t mean the fear is gone.

It means Julie is learning how she wants to live alongside it—creating boundaries, protecting her peace, loving her people, noticing the ordinary moments, and becoming more intentional about where she gives her energy.

“I want to appreciate the ordinary moments, love my people deeply, create memories, and protect the life I fought so hard to still be here living.”

Sometimes Restore is learning how to live again after spending so much time simply trying to survive. 👑

A teaser for an upcoming documentary feature film: “The Boobie Queens”

In November of 2025, Whitney O’Connor, founder of @theboobiequeenco brought on her filmmaker cousin @jadonboeglin to follow her and the organization over the course of the year to capture their journey and emphasize their mission — bridging the gap between oncology and the mental health challenges that come with the battles against breast cancer.

This film follows The Boobie Queen Company to San Antonio, New Orleans, Jackson Lake, New York City, Augusta, and Fort Lauderdale, documenting the moments that will tell the moving story about how the Boobie Queens are sharing their message with the world and changing many lives along the way. This film will touch heavily on how the company beautifully represents hope, courage, sisterhood, and celebration in survivorship.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, this is a mash up of the adventures captured so far with The Boobie Queens over the past year and a peak into what’s next.

We look forward to sharing more. The journey of making this film will be documented here 👑❤️

Meet the Crown of Restoration ✨👑

Inspired by the theme of The Boobie Queen Company’s five-year gala, this limited-edition crown was created with a deeply personal message for women affected by breast cancer.

For the gala, BQC’s Executive Director, @boobiequeenchronicles , hand-painted 136 Boobie Queens onto her dress—each one representing a woman served over the organization’s first five years. That experience inspired her to carry the message of restoration forward in a new way.

Every Crown of Restoration was handmade and hand-painted by our Executive Director, with gold detailing and gold leaf inspired by the tradition of kintsugi.
The message behind it is simple: survivorship is not always about going back to who you were before. Sometimes, it is about finding a new way forward—and learning to see the gold in yourself again.

Created especially for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Limited edition. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. 👑✨
