Cowgirl Up! Rides again in Wickenburg, AZ @westernmuseum This cowgirl and I met here about 13 years ago on a trail ride and I took some great pictures of her that I ALWAYS HOPED to paint “some day”...When I learned we would be in Wickenburg at the same time, I packed the photo to share with her. Knowing I would do a live painting, I packed a batch of pics to inspire me. I NEVER PLAN AHEAD for a live painting session, because I like to paint what inspires me at the moment! If I plan it all ahead of time, then I “spend” my inspiration and it feels “forced” to try to paint in front of people. So, since I always “wing it” on the spot, I usually do a landscape or an animal...rarely a person!!! But this pic of @cowgirlartist1 kept speaking to me so I “had to” paint her!!! Thanks Christina!!!
Not a portrait but this is her gesture and reminds me of all the great God-given friendships forged at Cowgirl Up! Go see the beautiful art and artists @westernmuseum and add some beauty to your collection!!! #cowgirlup #cowgirlup2021 #wickenburg #arizona #wickenburgranch #wickenburgaz #desertcaballeroswesternmuseum

“Bend in the Blues”24x30 oil on linen...painted a few years ago and on my studio wall. As Texas looks for the first bluebonnet of 2021, I HAVE AN IDEA! This painting “needs something”! It’s OK “as is”, but I just played with my iphone photo editor and did some quickie rough additions. Swipe to see a couple ideas! Should I add Longhorns? A cowboy? Some cattle? Nothing? Or something else? #bluebonnets #bluebonnetart #texasbluebonnets #texasart #texashillcountry #texasspring #texaswildflowers

I ran a few laps around this lake last weekend. It was one of the most pleasant runs I’ve had in a long time. These views never get old.

“Harriet” 9x12 watercolor. Another Christmas commission that I couldn’t post til after it was gifted. I especially enjoyed Harriet because I could create a true original! I decided to combine “this pose” with “that face” and “those ears”. Thank you for this, Barbara Crane!!! So glad the gift was liked!!! Happy New Year, Y’all!

This is one of my favorite cozy spaces in Colorado Springs. The perfect spot for some reading on a chilly day.
