We had a wonderful turnout for “As I See it” paintings by @espybooks Thank you all for attending. Julia has exhibited here in several printmaking shows in the past. “As I See It” displays the artist’s mastery of painting. Her unapologetically vibrant palette buzzes atop the contrasting deceptively mundane familial scenes. Open now through April 5th.

Brock Dent and Ron Lambert: Attention/Awareness

January 30 - March 5, 2025
Opening Reception | January 30, 5:00 pm
York College Galleries (Wolf Hall)

In 1980, Pauline Oliveros released a collection of writings. The cover of the book featured a circle with a dot in the middle. The essay in the book, titled On Sonic Meditation, explains that the circle represents awareness, and the dot represents attention. Oliveros understood that we need a balance between these two things. Too much fixation on attention to the self becomes isolating and too much energy put toward awareness of the world around us causes us to lose a sense of ourselves as an individual. In the exhibition Attention/Awareness, the works of Brock Dent and
Ron Lambert illustrate how they grapple with a balance between the self and stimuli from the world around them in an ever-expanding sphere of global influence.

This exhibition will open with a Gallery Talk featuring both artists and a reception in the Wolf Hall lobby. This exhibition is supported by a grant from the Cultural Alliance of York County. #contemporaryart #painting #sculpture #attentionawareness #yorkcollegeofpa #ycfineart #iloveyorkcity
