Beyond excited to be mentioned in @brodielancaster's new substack "Introducing the Plus-Size Hotline: Tips on shopping, styling and wearing for my big bitches"! She is such a style icon and I love seeing her outfits at each @aplusmarket so I will definitely be subscribing!

I've included the little snippet about Wax Echo Studio from Brodie's substack, and she absolutely nails it. One of the first things I did when starting WES was look for a chain supplier that offers long lengths because the lack of options out there was so frustrating!

Really happy to offer up to a 30 inch (or 76cm 😅) as standard and can customise make longer lengths as well (depending on the chain style)

Our micro-spotlight has returned: this time with @brodielancaster behind the wheel talking about having an opinion online.

She’s a critic, author, copywriter, Rookie alum, zine founder, pop culture memoirist and professional haver-of-thoughts, and has written about everything from Charli XCX to spending a week without her phone, with bylines in The New York Times, Vogue, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Guardian and basically every masthead worth pretending you read in full.

But to us, she’s the Melbourne PTV princess and one of the sharpest, funniest people to ask about the strange little theatre of saying what you mean on the internet. We talked taste, criticism, comments sections, changing your mind in public and why having an opinion is less about being loud, and more about being specific.

I am on a bus from Canberra to Eden, not sure if you know where that is but it’s the closest possible stop to the where I am playing tonight @bastion.festival but tbh this 9hr accidental journey has given me a bit of time to think about the past few days and how much has happened. Like… good and bad, mostly good? Played at revs with my girl @pgprettygrl popped into BTV with the ultimate tour manager @brodielancaster who I had envisioned driving me home but acted as expected and stayed for an extra 11hrs cause “it’ll be sweet” and then got home to do my last ever tour managing of @bigwett_ and see underworld, and make out with my friends at midnight, and then go to a house party (not pictured thank god) and then go to Sydney and play again and (after 36 hrs of vibing) now be on this bus :)
Actually kinda all good. Even the things that are bad like missing my flight because I got to go to Campbelltown for the first time and also on a long as fuck train ride and I love trains tbh. So yeah I didn’t even know how to arrange a bunch of photos to make it make sense. Infer what you will. I mean it’s basically just a carousel of me with DJs. Or is it? Also added is the best costume I saw all weekend (2 turtles) so cute. Love u x

I’m so happy and proud to announce my first solo-producer effort for @umbrellaentertainment, this limited collector’s Blu-ray of seminal Australian classic #LookingForAlibrandi to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The disc presents the film in a newly restored version from original elements!
The set features newly commissioned artwork by talented Australian artist @sarsar and writings by Alibrandi author and screenwriter @melina.marchetta, animator Lee Whitmore, writer @brodielancaster, and myself. Special features include a suite of new interviews presented by @thisisalexei with the film’s cast and creatives — @thekickgurry, MelinaMarchetta, director Kate Woods, Killing Heidi lead @ella_hooper, and musician @cordrazineband. We also have a Q&A with leads @_piamiranda and Kick Gurry recorded at this year’s @melbfilmfest; a new audio commentary by Alexei Toliopoulos and Brodie Lancaster; a newly restored animatic sequence using original animation concepts and storyboards by prolific Australian animator Lee Whitmore acquired from the @nfsaonline; and a bunch of archival bonus! Project Wrap: @enolanmelbourne x @meccabeauty

We came on board with E Nolan and MECCA from day one – sitting in the middle of the Venn diagram as project and talent managers for Emily for this mammoth task. Our job: keep the creative sharp and in-line with the E Nolan universe, the timelines sane and the hundred tiny decisions (zipper size, lining finish, exact shade of red) moving from “what if” to “signed off”.

Over ten months we wrangled calendars, briefs, samples, approvals, shoot days and content, making sure the bag felt exactly like E Nolan and landed cleanly inside MECCA’s world. Late-night WhatsApps, inbox deep dives, problem-solving around product development and launch – all so Emily could stay focused on design while the machine around her kept humming.

The outcome is the ultimate Australian-summer beauty bag: a canvas dopp kit lined in clear-coated E Nolan shirting, built for sunscreen spills, salt-crusted swimmers and last-minute packing.

For us, it’s also a neat little case study in what happens when we’re in the room from the very beginning to help make the magic happen.
