I had the pleasure of hand delivering these to some of the founders of @celgrading during their launch event @collectorssummit in Las Vegas Recently. I got to see some familiar faces and meet some awesome people.

On the American side of toys/figures TRANSOGRAM are another list-topper. This trio of Hank Aaron, Tom Seaver, Jim Wynn is a power-packed set up.

The cut out cards on the back can be graded individually. Frankly, the whole display, graded as one piece by AFA, is the way to go in my opinion. Display factor is off the charts.

It was really special to be in Houston to celebrate Masako Nozawa’s 90th birthday.

I also finally got to meet friends I’d known through Instagram for a long time, and we had a really fun two days together. During my time in Houston, I met four voice actors who have played Goku, including Masako Nozawa, as well as the voice actor of Beerus. I also completed a collection that means a lot to me.

I had a chance to talk briefly with Masako Nozawa and wish her a happy birthday in person. I also gave her a short handwritten letter, and she read it right there in front of me, haha. When I told her I had come from South Korea, she seemed surprised.

When I showed her an old Dragon Ball animation script I had brought with me, she looked at it and said, “I remember this.” That was a special moment for me.

I also showed her an original piece of artwork hand-drawn by Akira Toriyama around 40 years ago. She seemed surprised when she saw it.

As I said goodbye and turned to leave, I heard Masako Nozawa say behind me, “Sugoi desu ne” (すごいですね / “That’s amazing”). Those words stayed with me. I think she was probably referring to Toriyama-sensei’s original artwork I had just shown her.

It was only two days in Houston, but I came home with a lot of great memories.

Just like these moments captured on film, I hope the memories of those days stay with us for a long time.

A rare insert from the Upper Deck era.
First year SP Tag Men, a short-lived set with only two releases (2006 & 2007).
The 2006 features a smaller patch, while 2007 introduced the larger patch window with holo foil.

Updated. ACHIEVED! 10X. The first $1m has achieved 10X in under my 10 year target. With the recent 1st edition Charizard selling for $825k and then $1 million, we hit 10X this quarter. 10X in 6 3/4 years! That’s one heck of a ROI on a category I love, with a community I love.

In late 2019, and the start of the Covid epidemic, I invested $1,000,000 into my collecting thesis - Collectibles were going to surge with adults focusing on fandom, comfort, nostalgia and community while being stuck at home for a bit. I focused on areas in which I felt passionate, where I had the desire to do a lot of studying. Pokémon, sports collectibles and more. This represents just a few of the many hundreds of investments I made in 2019-2021.

My overall ROI, I believe, has hit 10X on the first $1 million invested.

After the fire, I started a new 10X in 10 Year journey focused on graded manga, published works, scripts, art, storyboards, vintage graded toys, music and more. While the fire wiped out a lot of value, I did have many items vaulted including the 1st edition PSA 10 Charizard, Ishihara, Potter book, Andre rookie, Nicklaus rookie and took my LeBrons and book of letters. A big loss, but thankfully I did have some items vaulted… as I do today w my most valuable items.

Here it is. My big pickup from @collectorssummit. The cover painting to 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧, a graphic novel that is a work in progress by legendary pin-up artist @oliviapinupart Olivia De Berardinis and award-winning writer, Martin Meunier.

I met Olivia, her husband Joel, and Martin this weekend at the show. A few of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Martin has won an Oscar for his stop-motion work on Coraline.

Frankie is also a statue on @sideshow. Swipe for a pic. I’m going to have to buy one to display alongside the painting.

IG photos don’t do it justice. Those who saw in person at Summit can attest. From her bandages to her different color eyes, to the Metropolis tattoo, insane detail top to bottom. On gouache, watercolor, copic, and acrylic. 30x24. It took her months to complete and its an honor to own. It’ll hang on my illustration wall right next to Nagel.

This time we’re diving into the Harry Potter Scripts of Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows Part 2, with some quite interesting script revisions showing the progression of how the script evolved over time.

There’s also a very cool Pokemon script revealed that you might be interested in. Let us know in the comments if scripts are something you’d collect.

Again we’re sending these off to @celgrading, can’t wait to see how these turn out in their slabs.
