Read “Fatima’s Great Outdoors” recently by author Ambreen Tariq and illustrator Stevie Lewis (@chocosweete). The story features an immigrant #Muslim family going on their first camping trip in a new country. Ambreen Tariq (founder of @BrownPeopleCamping) shares a delightful way to experience the outdoors as an immigrant and holds space for different foods outdoors. I loved how excited Fatima is for camping and I loved how her family embraced it.

If your 4–8 year old is full of curiosity (and maybe a little wild at heart), this month’s booklove box was made for them 🌿📚

We’re stepping outside and tuning in with Fatima’s Great Outdoors and Wildspeak, two stories that spark wonder, courage, and a deeper connection to the natural world. They are great picks if your family likes to camp and or loves word play.

Sometimes the best kind of growth doesn’t happen on a screen, but happens under open skies, in muddy shoes, and through stories that stay with them long after the last page.

✨ Ages 4–8
✨ Thoughtfully curated
✨ Built to grow big readers (and kind humans)

Birdy loved her first #campingtrip! She did really well overall with the extreme heat and rain and even roaming off leash for most of the time. I expected her to have the hardest time with sleeping in the tent bc she is such an alert guard dog. But I am still so proud of her!! Please send any and all tips on how to help her calm down for bedtime in the tent! #campingwithdogs #hikingdog #campvibes #outdooradventure

Celebrating AANHPI Month starting with some of my favorite books. Stories about our families and the many ways they’re created and held..stories about immigration, adoption, and dancing tinikling between cultures that shape who we are.

If you have any book recs, please share them with me! I’m always looking to add more stories to my shelves. 🤎
