A reminder from this eclipse.

Surrender is not passivity.
It’s the moment we recognize where our effort has become resistance, and soften enough to move with life rather than against it.

To release the need to control the outcome.
To choose acceptance over expectation.
Appreciation over anticipation.
Flexibility over force.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stop pushing against what is and trust what begins to flow when we do. 🌙

Happy International Yoga Day 🪷

Yoga has shaped my life in ways I never could have imagined. It’s been my anchor, my teacher, and my mirror, guiding me back to myself again and again. Grateful for the practice that continues to heal, challenge, and transform me. 🤍🙏

Today is my 37th Birthday 🎈

A lot can change in a year. And usually, the biggest shifts, are the ones not visible from the outside.

This year I can confidently say I am that little bit more at home in my skin, self-compassion is that little bit more accessible and I continue to get better and better at asking for what I need.

Growth is happening.
Even if it’s quiet.
Even if it’s unseen.

And that is enough.

✨

That said, I guess a year of changes can also be VERY VISIBLE. Thanks to @brspix for another amazing shoot this past fall, almost exactly a year after the first — and they showed up in my inbox just in time for my birthday.

I have come to my mat to practice (almost) daily for 27 years. I’ve never skipped out on the hard work. I’ve just showed up. Day after day after day. I’ve been dedicated and consistent. I’ve been focused and committed, from that very first moment when I could barely get through that first class, and every single moment after that.

I meet people every day in my clinical practice who want recovery - a life without an eating disorder. Often they are desperate, deeply suffering, and tired. Most tend to want recovery to come fast (or at least their loved ones want that for them). They want it without the struggle or the suffering. They want it to be smooth and relatively easy, on their terms, not to impact the things they do, or take away from whatever else they’d prefer to be doing. They want it to be less difficult than having the illness (which recovery is not, at least not for a long while).

I didn’t get up into a handstand fast or easily. I didn’t get comfortable with what was on my plate fast or easily. I didn’t jump through to seated fast or easily. I didn’t know how to understand hunger and fullness fast or easily. I didn’t move on from primary, second or third series fast or easily. I didn’t stop binging, purging and restricting fast or easily. I didn’t hold a standing balance on one leg fast or easily. I didn’t feel good about my body fast or easily. I didn’t find real transformation on the mat fast or easily. I didn’t feel safe with food fast or easily. But, I did, in time. With endless practice. Patience. Daily commitment. The will. The want. The belief. And a hell of a lot of sweat, tears, mistakes, and try agains and agains and agains. I never focused on perfection. I never focused on the destination. I never thought about the ending. I fell in love with the process - both in yoga and in my recovery.

The most beautiful things DO happen in time because of hard work, commitment, and the belief that it is possible.

Found this 777 I never posted from my Handstand Intensive Training with @yuval_on_hands (center) and @yuvaloz (left) in Koh Phangan 🇹🇭 in March 2025.

Now I can relax my head in, but I didn’t want to risk it and fall out, missing the opportunity for this shot (we all wanted a few with the 🤸🏻‍♂️ masters!)

almost a year ago today with @brspix it’s funny and beautiful the difference a year can make.

My practice has never followed a linear line…it ebbs and flows, with stretches of consistency and periods of pause. Recently, it’s leaned more toward the pause. With three months left in the year, my intention is to return to a steady rhythm of six days a week, not just for the physical discipline but as a way of turning inward. As @dedica often reminds me, simply arriving on the mat is already a step forward.
