2025 recap en retard un peu

J’ai beaucoup ri, beaucoup pleuré, fini mes études, fait un documentaire, rencontré des gens tellement cool, dit au revoir d’autres mais en résumé: mucho love comme d’hab.

: I had the best time celebrating my early Birthday with all these people this past weekend.. until I was forced to do a stupid speech. HAHA! After watching myself deliver the speech in different angles captured by my sick, sick friends, I would like to add more to it here as I feel my speech fell short. So, to publicly being vulnerable..🙄

All year, I’ve struggled to accept the absence of certain people who once had a steady place in my life — relationships that shaped me and quietly faded. With that has come the more challenging task of sitting with how unfamiliar things can feel without the friendships that once came so naturally to me. On the eve of turning another year, I find myself finally accepting that reality and learning how to find sweetness that often comes alongside deep nostalgia.

This past weekend, I celebrated with all these wonderful people who come from different eras of my life. I got to show my lovely Boyfriend — who has supported me through all my emotional breakdowns over lost connections — the people there that have held different versions of me, all gathered in one moment. I got to have a mini reunion with my childhood church friends — my first and oldest friends here in the U.S. — and got to celebrate alongside newer friendships I look forward to keep creating memories with. There were friends who haven’t been around as long as my older friendships, but saw the tail end of my “fuck it” era and helped me hold together all of the softness I’ve grown into. And finally, my longtime group of friends who for many seasons have only ever dealt with my toughness — and are now finally meeting a version of me I’ve always wanted to share more fully.

As tomorrow marks the beginning of a new solar cycle, I want to once again express my gratitude to these wonderful people — and to Sissy, my family, and other dear friends who couldn’t make it. I’m grateful to be surrounded by a kind of love that has only existed through mutual care and effort. I am truly made whole because of it.

To many more years of life spent knowing each and every one of you.🥂
