The 2026 trouting season has been by far the best yet! I’ve been lucky to catch some great fish and visit some amazing venues, but it has been the time spent with good friends and my girls that’s really been the highlight.

Now it’s time to embrace cold hands, multi fly tangles and my inevitable falls into the river this winter as we hunt out some Grayling 🎣

As this years dry fly fishing starts to fade I grabbed at an opportunity to fish The Haddon Hall Beat of the @thepeacockflyfishingclub.
A really enjoyable day meeting up with friends and exchanging tales from the season.
The River was in fine form but the wind really hampered hatches for most of the day. A few small fish to the net was more than enough in such a stunning location.

It was a pleasure to support @thepeacockflyfishingclub at their Cancer & Pisces event on the Haddon stretch of the Derbyshire Wye. We took some photos, untangled leaders, and talked all things fishing 🎣

Such a privilege to access these parts of the Peak, the fishing, wildlife and landscape really is first class.

Good first session of the season. Got amongst a few in the end, very slow start to the day after loosing one in the first few casts it all went quiet for the next few hours. Early afternoon is when it all kicked into life taking fish in quick succession.

Great to get out in some warmth and hopeful to keep the 100% catch session ratio for whole season 😉😉

Opening day for us up in Derbyshire. Brilliant event put on by Jan for the Peacock fly fishing club. Great to see friends old and new.

Tight lines for the 2026 season, that PB trout is just around the corner

Ending the year on a high with a great session on the Derbyshire Derwent. Lots of fish to the net and nobody went for a swim, success!

Happy New Year!

Fish on!

Our first day out together this season and what a beauty it was - a little taste of summer. The fish made themselves known but were very hard to fool, it wasn’t obvious what they were eating but after many fly changes we managed to land a couple each.
