POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday @mudinmymalbec joined me on @nts_radio for this month’s show, which also happens to mark 15 years on the station. Quite a trip. Nothing but love and gratitude to all the artists who make the amazing music I love to play, the incredible guests who bring something unique every time, all the team at NTS, and of course anyone and everyone who has tapped in over the years. Too many photos to pick from but here’s a bunch from in and around the live airings, from Dalston to LA to Tokyo. RIP to those we lost along the way, Ebow & Alex.

Official music video out now on YT ✨
We made live action into animation with over 6000 still images, giving the video a shattered perspective. Only the underwater sequences are film footage.
Really hope you like it, let me know what you think. Link in bio or on my YouTube @acwamusic

All In. All Out.

As I move out of my Somerville apartment, I look longingly at the gear (I mean, how can you not) and think of the inspirational people and things that have helped me in my musical journey these past two years in Winter Hill. Ya boy hasn’t opened up an #ableton project in 15 months…thanks to people like @marcrebillet and @reggiewatts (not to mention the entire @re.sample crew) for blowing my mind with their hardware prowess and getting me to look up from the computer screen for a change!

At the same time, as I now shift gears towards mixing and mastering some new tunes, I’m looking forward to reading @daddykev ‘s new textbook and listening to my @lowendtheory streaming playlists to get my ears back in the game!

I know I’ve been posting non-stop memes and paintings and non-fungible nonsense lately…but keep your eyes and ears tuned for some hot booty jamz coming soon!

Everything related to @s.maharba sells out in a minute. He is one of the most important producers and his music is indescribably good. That is why this edition is very important and special to me.

I consider myself the luckiest woman in the world to have this release and this priceless vinyl and that's only thanks to one person I respect a lot, and that's @andrewbts_ of @btsradio 🖤

Tales of the Black Racer/Snake Medicine

As a spiritual messenger, the snake is the embodiment of transmutation, which is best exemplified by the shedding of its skin. The snake has also been known to represent healing & medicine, as well as bringing teachings of the cycles of death & rebirth. In one myth about Asclepius, the Greek God of Healing, we learn that he gained knowledge of how to bring the dead back to life from a snake. After killing a snake he watched as another accompanying snake brought herbs to bring its dead companion back to life. Temples dedicated to Asclepius, which were early hospitals, even had non-venomous snakes that slithered freely along the floors where the injured slept and were used in healing rituals. The Rod of Asclepius is still used as a sign of the medical profession today. Even in the Bible, when Moses prayed for the people in the wilderness, God instructed him to make a brazen serpent and put it upon a staff so that those who looked upon it would be healed. This is to say that as many snakes are associated as the carrier of death, they can also be the one to deliver the remedy as the cure is often bundled with the poison.

As a snake uses its tongue to get a sense of its environment, this shows us to also use our senses to determine which environments are most nourishing for us. Snakes also have transparent “spectacle” scales which always protects their eyes like eyeglasses. This teaches us to learn to protect our perspective and always keep our eyes open to not fall prey to illusions or be caught unaware.
