Today, the Bucknell Real Estate Club had the opportunity to collaborate with the Bucknell Student Advisory Board on a panel featuring alumni Andy Merin, Steve Kohn, Brett Earnest, and Adam Frazier, moderated by Jim Cowan.

We enjoyed hearing about the data center, office, and multifamily markets, as well as each panelist’s career path and experiences in the real estate industry.

For my final post as iamray, I want to take some time to talk about my experience in the Freeman College of Management and serving as a member of the FCOM Student Advisory Board.

Coming into my first year at Bucknell, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to major in. However, thanks to the general education curriculum in the Freeman College, I had the opportunity to take a class in every business discipline before officially declaring my major during the spring of my sophomore year. With the small class sizes we have here at Bucknell, I also got to know my professors on a personal level. Many of them worked in industry before coming to Bucknell, and their real-world experience was incredibly valuable as I explored different career paths.

One organization I’ve been especially grateful to be a part of is the FCOM Student Advisory Board. As a member, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with students, faculty, and staff to enhance the experience of every Freeman student. Whether that means organizing alumni panels where students can hear firsthand about different career paths or creating resource folders with résumé templates and professional development materials, the Student Advisory Board has allowed me to leave my own mark on Bucknell. It’s also been inspiring to work alongside other student leaders who are passionate about making the Freeman experience even better.

Overall, the Freeman College of Management has provided me with countless opportunities to grow personally and professionally while preparing me for success after graduation.

As I wrap up my time as iamray, I have to share one of my favorite Bucknell sayings: “Once a Bucknellian, always a Bucknellian.” No matter how much time passes, Lewisburg will always feel like home, and that’s something truly special about Bucknell.

Thank you again for following along this week as I shared my Bucknell experience. I hope my posts have given you a glimpse into what makes this community so special, and I encourage anyone considering Bucknell to apply and experience it for yourself!
