T H E WA I T

We are patiently awaiting the light to envelop the tall old trees before us. The scene is tranquil with the sounds of the natural world for company, including a few singing birds and a silent woodpecker that my friend observed dancing through the trees above. The elements are not at their best; there is no fog or mist but there is light and patience as we wait for that magical moment. We also have hope as this is the beginning of the autumn season. An image I captured a few weeks ago has given me hope for the forthcoming foggy conditions and the magical autumn colours.

Just in from an amazing day out on the water! What good it does for the soul. The way this Buffalo Shirt works is amazing. Mid October, covered in spray, wet to the skin - and I didn’t feel cold. 33 years on and still doing its job well. On top of that, my Musto gloves haven’t been touched in years. I thought the stitching would go and the rubber would have perished. Perfect. I know I bang on about it but I really, REALLY love quality practical kit. Spent a couple of days up in the Cairngorms last month with @buffalosystems and @sidetrackedmag, putting some proper outdoor gear through its paces.

A night in a definitely haunted bothy on royal estate, a 4am start, a climb up Lochnagar and some of the most incredible light I’ve ever seen in the mountains. Even saw a 12-tined stag.

A pretty special couple of days, and deffo one of the more memorable modelling jobs I’ve done

Two images, two adventures, two @buffalosystems jackets!

Taken six years apart in mountains of Kyrgyzstan the Skulls are from an Ibex and are the target of the illusive Snow Leopard which, we were laying camera traps to try to photograph.

I was super fortunate to have the support of @buffalosystems on my most recent trip to Kyrgyzstan however on adventures all over the world, I have always worn their kit. This is not a paid endorsement, but I have nothing else to say other than I’m a kit nerd that loves what they do. Made in Sheffield, tested in the field, I can’t imagine reaching for a different jacket when packing for an adventure!

I’ve always had a fascination with Everest and one day I will see the mountain. I think it stems from hearing stores of daring and adventure and also the spiritual aspect of the mountain. Genuinely can’t wait to read this and hopefully if all things plan out , meet him in the not so distant future on one of our expeditions. Keep an eye out !!
