Day 30: Paulette might be the best.

Today we are with @buffalowingcoalition in our first stop of 4 places.

Paulette’s Blue Collar Inn, in Angola NY had an awesome dive bar vibe, which I love. Paulette herself made an appearance and she was amazing. She told the story about how she bought the place from Skippy, the original owner. And how she took it from a place that closed down to reviving it for the last 12 years. And did all this AFTER retirement.

And don’t worry, we did the review before she came in. So no bias in this one (I totally would have bumped the score after meeting her). Such a pleasure to be around.

Now for the wings, she has 82 different flavors. Which is the most I’ve seen! Let me know if you know of any place that has more. To keep 82 flavors going at a dive bar is incredible.

As for the hot, it’s just your standard franks, which is why I couldn’t push this into the 8’s. But they do have an extra hot wing, which was much better. The wings were crispy and very well cooked. A bit on the larger size. However, a solid place if you’re in and around this area and want to hit a true dive.

If this is your first time here, thanks for being here. And be sure to follow along! It helps a lot more than you know.

We will see you on the next one ✌️

Rootie’s has been our go-to blue cheese for years, but it feels good to finally make that official. Rootie’s Blue Cheese: The Preferred Blue Cheese of the Buffalo Wing Coalition. Born in Buffalo, Shipped Nationwide — we couldn’t be more excited to partner with these folks who have been slinging this Buffalo staple since 1978.

Ranch is for Salads, and Blue Cheese is for Wings.. but who has the best homemade bleu in Buffalo? We’re on a quest to find out. Here’s what we have so far, but bear with us, it’s a work in progress. Who did we miss?
.
⚠️: Restaurants ranked must serve wings
🧀: Must be a house made recipe, we’re trying not to let any Ken’s slip through the cracks
🍗: Remember, don’t just dip the tip, check out our sponsor @chicken_dippin for the best way to dip a chicken wing

We’ve “judged” many wings before.. but having 7 Buffalo Bills players all create their own sauce and battle for best chef in the kitchen? That’s a first. Stay tuned to find out the winner of @christopher_welch_realestate ‘s “Getting Saucy” competition, also see how we stacked up the contestants. Pleasure to meet these stand up guys!
