Our workshops are live! Food, craft, movement, and design, hands-on sessions across the Festival with some of the sharpest practitioners working in each field. Spots are limited, so book yours now via the link in bio. Imagine telling a whole story without saying a single word. That’s what Kathakali does. Instead of speech, it uses the whole body: a gesture, a glance, a drumbeat, a costume. Together they show you who a character is, what they feel and what’s about to happen. This workshop breaks that language down, so you can see how each piece fits. You’ll look at how movement, expression, music and rhythm come together to build a character and a dramatic moment. You’ll also explore how an old tradition can tell new stories, with fresh characters and everyday human experiences, while still staying true to what makes it Kathakali. 📍 The Studio, Directorate of Accounts 🗓 19 Dec ⏱ 11:00AM–12:30PM Facilitated by Shri. Peesapally Rajeevan and Kalamandalam Neeraj Most of us spend our lives sitting, disconnected from our own bodies. This workshop asks you to rediscover movement as a way of thinking, feeling, and understanding yourself, through simple actions like walking, running, and jumping that build body awareness and reveal how the body functions as a whole. The session moves into the relationship between movement and emotion, how conscious physical change can shift stress, confidence, and emotional wellbeing, before opening into a final section on body memory, habitual patterns, and personal expression through movement and play. 📍 The Studio, The Directorate of Accounts 🗓 19 Dec ⏱ 1:30PM–4:00PM Language: English, Hindi, Marathi Facilitated by Abhay Mahajan Facilitator Arati Naik’s inheritance began on a beach in Karwar, with her grandfather, a handful of hay, and freshly caught mackerel. A restaurateur, home chef, and storyteller rooted in food, family, and place, Arati runs the Karwari supper club Jev, where she shares recipes and stories passed down through her family. This workshop brings inheritance to the forefront, traditions, knowledge, flavours, and memories handed from one generation to the next, preserving everyday food techniques that

SPACES Study 005
Toybox imagined The best hospitality experiences don’t announce themselves. They just happen to be true, and whoever walks in is lucky enough to be standing in them. A book left open. A duck that hasn’t noticed it’s trespassing on a hundred-year-old bench. A swing nobody choreographed, in a garden once sketched for children who never quite got their playground. None of it was staged for you. That’s the whole design. Anjali Mangalgiri restored this house on one idea: work with what it already wanted to be. The result isn’t a stay you experience, it’s a life you’re briefly let into. That’s the difference between design-led hospitality and decoration. One creates a backdrop. The other creates a place that would still feel exactly like this whether or not you ever walked in. That absence of performance is the actual luxury. 📸 @suryan.archive & @sanwahi 🏛️ @buildgrounded
