*** MIR Recap ***

It's been a week since World Cup Finals - Import vs. Domestic, and we're back in the normal routine at home, and wanted to give a quick recap on another amazing WCF!

Since running our first 6 second pass earlier this season, there hasn't been much that has changed on the Red Demon. The biggest change was installing the Ford rear end, which was done as our team prepared for WCF's.

We spent Thursday and Friday getting the car dialed in with just a couple of passes. We had an issue with a speed sensor during Qualifier #1, a transfer case failure in Qualifier #2, and a issue with the race timer in Q3. We didn't get all of the data that we were looking for during those qualifiers, but we got enough data to give us an idea as we moved on.

After working out a few little issues, we qualified on Saturday (Q4) with a 7.08 @ 194mph pass, putting us near the top of the ladder in the Stick Shift Class. Later in the qualifying session (Q5), we improved our ET and MPH with a 6.977 @ 213MPH. Our 6.97 Q5 pass was .07 faster at the 1/8 than our 6.98 pass, but we lost 3 rockers during that pass which slowed us down a bit.

Devin had a goal going into this year's WCF - make a 6 second pass in front of everyone and we accomplished that in front of a sold out crowd!

During Round 1 of Eliminations, we got paired against our good friend Mike Wolher. We felt really confident after our passes on Saturday but hated the fact we had to run a good friend. We ended up bogging the launch and just as we started to make up some ground, Devin shifted into 4th gear and lost all boost. We have since found the culprit - a crack in an intercooler end tank.

(Please read our comments for the rest of the recap.....)
