What a wonderful day in Southampton this past Saturday.

We’re so grateful to our juror, Nicole Esposito, for her thoughtful and discerning eye in shaping the Double Take exhibit—selecting just over 30 compelling works from hundreds of submissions. The reception was a true success, and it was a pleasure to experience both the exhibit and Nicole’s solo presentation alongside so many of you.

Congratulations to our award recipients:
First Place — A Casual Downpour by Tom Fox
Second Place — Zebra Chaos by Janis Hurley
Third Place — King Tide on Dune Road by Nick McGuire
Honorable Mentions — Golden Trees by Marie E De Tullio and After the Rainbow Bridge by Jeffrey Hughes

Thank you to all who attended and supported this special event—we’re honored to celebrate such exceptional work together.

ONE YEAR AGO
I would’ve never guessed what all would transpire. I would never have known that my life would change in unimaginable ways..
A year ago today, I stepped foot in to this house and back in to the world of urban exploring.
After over 10 years of a hiatus, years of intense personal growth, healing from my own trials and tribulations, becoming a mom, starting therapy and overall.. just trying to find my fucking place, my passion, my purpose.. it all became so clear the very moment I explored this house.. I’m doing exactly what I should’ve been doing all along, what I’m meant to do.. which is this.
I could’ve never fathomed that this all would lead to some of the most sincere and authentic friendships and connections I’ve ever had, that the conversations with those same people would inspire a podcast that would grow more rapidly than I could’ve ever imagined.
To say that I’m grateful would be a complete understatement but if you’ve been here anytime between now and the last year, if you’re tagged in this or if you’ve made it to the end of this insanely long post - know that this is for you:
THANK YOU - for being here, for supporting what I do and more importantly, for documenting the very places that inspire new chapters for people, much like the way this one did for me.
All beef and drama aside, I love all of you, thank you for having me, for welcoming me in to this (sometimes crazy) community, I wouldn’t change a single thing.
With all that said, here’s to many more years of exploring the allure in the abandoned, the beauty of decay and the Echoes of Elsewhere 🤍

Why do we hope you vote Firefly “The Best”? Because of John Lazzaro, our ever-studying and creating published author, photographer, historian, documentarian and brave adventurer. His images are striking. He knows a lot about them. His books are treasured by many. We are grateful.

If you agree that these guys are the best, please vote for them in both the Best of LI and Local’s Choice awards. Links are in bio. It’s a great way to show your support for all sorts of local treasures. Even better, come on down to the Village and shop with us and all our wonderful neighbors. They’re the best, too!!!
