my heart and arms were full this week in Tennessee 🌲🎣🌄🤍🪵

After five years apart, seeing my brother made me feel whole again. Some reunions mend parts of you quietly, and meeting my nephew, Suede, brought a kind of love I didn’t know I was missing. Being an auntie is already one of the sweetest parts of my life. And of course, meeting Kendall was just as special, seeing how much she loves my brother and this family brought so much relief (because our family is insane!). Watching Alex meet my family and continuously show up for me is a love I always dreamed of. This trip showed me how much can change in five years, but how much love stays the same. :)

Finally saw my bestie for the first time since February, met her sweet baby, did some exploring, and now I’m either moving here or immediately planning the next trip. Tennessee, you’re breathtaking.

16 weeks ago was the start of Recruit Class 120 for the Memphis Fire Department. In these 16 weeks you learn a lot about yourself as you are challenged both physically and mentally. You meet some people a long the way that you never would’ve thought you’d interact with nevertheless become friends with and eventually family. It is an honor to have been apart of this academy, it is an honor to have graduated amongst these men and women, and it is the greatest honor to be able to finally serve the City of Memphis.
