BUSH DÜF [@bushduf] abducts our favorite welterweight sound system within easy reach of the L line for a night of cosmic, colorful and cathartic techno. Led by a stacked cockpit of DÜF debutants who all seamlessly navigate the hypnotic and progressive with equal aplomb, expect astonishing vistas interstellar and terrestrial to animate your midweek with profundity and revelry. Peace Ramen b2b Tsaifan open our evening with their celebrated sense for cutting-edge curation. The NO SIGNAL [@nosignalnyc] founders are best known for their eponymous mix series, which has since grown into a global platform and multi-modal community organizer, but their somatic storytelling as selectors is no less dialed in. Anticipate from them a riveting entanglement of mind and body. Ben Zo then takes over with his cinematic set construction. The DÜF captain has no qualms harmonizing unexpected influences including acid, ambient and even Italo with even the most tunneling of techno. He leads us deeper into the wormhole with his bespoke ability for arranging vastly different waveforms. threez confidently scopes the cosmos with their precise yet expressive command of otherworldly rhythms. The Lot Radio resident and Hybrid Identity co-architect purveys propulsive, prescient sound with an enlivening intuition for the motherbeat in its many mesmerizing forms. Whether it’s bouncy psychedelia or searing emotionality, anticipate both celebration and introspection in equal measure from this local rarity. Constructible then concludes our occasion with their exhilarating attunement toward imaginative worldbuilding. The virtuosic multi-hyphenate lands our us on a planet fit for home with their talent for mixing velocity and veneration. Expect tender, captivating soundscapes from the final debutant of both venue and the party until the fog and floor clear. After some ticketed events, we’re back to a classic humpday shindig with free RSVPs. So be sure to come early, stay late, and, as always, spend liberally. You can now hear my set from @bushduf recorded live at SILO. I hadn’t spun on a Pioneer v10 mixer since last year’s Fourth World, so was very keen for another chance to harmonize four decks on ideal gear. What resulted is my own definitive summary of the hypnotic, proggy techno at the heart of the party. SoundCloud link in either bio, hope you enjoy!

BUSH DÜF [@bushduf] returns to Jupiter Disco for another finely-tuned sonic celebration on their impressively-analog welterweight Danleys. Anticipate another awesome occasion of cosmic, colorful and cathartic techno piloted by three local selectors making their venue debuts and an opening b2b from two familiar faces tethered together for the first time. As the first humpday DÜF in eons, there is no cover, so be sure to come early, stay late and, as always, spend liberally. Ben Zo and Perrin Grace open the wormhole with an extended b2b combining their respective harmonic and hypnotic reflexes. Animated by the former’s progressive propulsion and the latter’s orchestral intuition for driving dance floors, expect textures verdant and interstellar alike as they paint otherworldly vistas with acid, dub and ambient techno. cruz ctrl then takes us further out of our default dimension in the first of our three consecutive JD debuts. The Bronx-born designer and DUF deputy can summon everything from the most rivetingly-reverby rhythms to outright organic percussion, often drawing from his Latin roots depending on the assignment. His premiere playtime here is hence an attraction in its own right. xxar combs through his hypnotic palette to demonstrate his meticulous approach to sonic maneuvering. Most-recognized at our past parties for his thunderous and thoughtfully-introspective live modular performance, today he draws from his wide knowledge of deep grooves to offer us a focused ninety minutes of precise techno. Sadmi closes with his sense for forward-thinking, futuristic techno layered with laserlike punctuality. The Cove curator is as electric a selector as he is enthsuastic an organizer, evoking revelry in his sense for somatic and kinetic soundscapes. Anticipate a conclusion that will have you quivering in rapture between the speakers till the fog and floor clear. DJs • Ben Zo [@_lorenzob] • Perrin Grace [@perringracemusic] • cruz ctrl [@jelacruzjeffrey] • Sadmi [@sadmi.sounds] • xxar [@_arlandob] Free RSVP via link in bio.

Another full + fun month ahead. First, I’m back so soon @happyfunhideaway for @andrewbreitel’s birthday! I’m playing at 10 for an hour, come through and celebrate one of the nicest people we know. On Friday Jan 9, I’m back @jupiterdisco and hyped for a 3-hour extended set. Keen to genre-jump like it’s hopscotch on extreme opening duties for @fullspectrum.aiff, a party as inviting sonically as it is socially like the people behind it @ktronandfriends and @klipdagga_ . Then, we’re back with more sci-fi sounding techno on Thursday, Jan 15th for the first @silobrooklyn @bushduf … I’m really jazzed with this lineup, I think the entire sequence will feel cinematic, especially on the venue’s tremendous Danley sound system. Finally, a first-ever b2b with most-esteemed homie @djdannylynch over @mccarrenparkhouse: we will probably also play mostly house but who knows. Maybe some housey techno too. I’ll be mostly away from the decks in February to focus on film stuff but am actively seeking opportunities to select uncompressed audio files in bespoke, tastefully-curated, historically-conscious and cinematically-informed sequences for social events at which music is a centerpiece from March onwards. Please hit my line, it’d be my honor to DJ for you!

The final week of the year yields three fun events at which I am DJing. First, @bushduf throws down on Xmas Eve @trans.pecos with a stacked lineup of spacey techno, custom lights, the works for the heads still in town. A few days later, on Monday, I’m back on-deck @bossanovacivicclub for @something4yourmiind from 10pm–midnight and I’m especially keen on this interim, having played the hours on either side of it but never the open itself. Last, I’m back @happyfunhideaway for NYE after last year’s epic occassion and my esteemed guest this time is @bliscord, so expect introspective Italo, edifying EBM and other soulful synths from start to finish. Thank you for your support this year and I hope to see you again before it’s over!
