We are thrilled to have Anuj Sharma @buttonmasala with us for a few weeks to do a workshop and he has brought a small edit of his collection which is available in our store until Saturday 31st.

Trained at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, Sharma is the creator of Button Masala, an innovative textile technique that challenges conventional approaches to fashion and garment construction. By using elastic bands to connect buttons through fabric, he creates intricate forms, sculptural shapes and wearable pieces without a single stitch.

The idea emerged from a simple observation: a man wearing a shirt without buttons. Sharma began experimenting with buttons and buttonholes, exploring how their placement could generate different patterns and structures. Eventually, elastic bands replaced buttonholes, opening up an entirely new way of working with fabric.

Durch die zusätzliche Weite am Ausschnitt lässt sich der Stoff ganz einfach raffen und individuell formen.

Und jetzt kommt das Geniale: Je mehr Buttons ich setze, desto taillierter wird mein Top! Möchte ich es lieber etwas lockerer tragen, entferne ich einfach ein paar Buttons.

Ganz ohne Auftrennen oder erneutes Nähen!

BLOOMING DARKNESS

An ode to the beautiful enigma of an untamed soul.

Blooming Darkness explores the power of a soul that refuses to be tamed, defined, or diminished by the world. Fierce yet compassionate, mysterious yet deeply human, it finds strength in its contradictions. Its darkness is depth, its fire is conviction, and its kindness is a strength that no cruelty can extinguish.

Like a wild force of nature, it grows through resistance, breaks beyond boundaries, and blooms where nothing is expected to survive. It transforms adversity into growth, defiance into freedom, and individuality into an unapologetic expression of self.

This concept celebrates those who refuse to be shaped by expectation, who embrace their complexity, and who find beauty in what the world struggles to understand. It is a tribute to the untamed spirit that creates its own space rather than asking for permission to belong.

Some souls are not born to fit into the world. They are born to challenge it, grow beyond its boundaries, and bloom where darkness dares to take root.

Happy @taukomagazine issue 21 launch! This issue is called “Redesign” and celebrates the endless possibilities of making and remaking. I decided to give the Button Masala @buttonmasala patterns a try, and I chose the skirt pattern, Pure, by @albersartwork #TAUKOpure.

What you see here is my very first experiment with this technique. No sewing whatsoever! Just a piece of fabric, some buttons and ordinary hair elastics. The Button Masala technique uses buttons and elastics to shape and secure the fabric, creating a garment without a single stitch. SO COOL. The only thing I need to figure out is to make it easier to wear an item like this. It’s pretty hard for my body to place the buttons while wearing it.

I have to admit that I’ve been a little neglectful of my Make & Share for Telco lately, simply because life has been pretty busy. And right now, I’m also dealing with a little stomach bug (hence the bloated belly) and not quite enough time or energy to create the kind of finished piece I would normally share.
A lovely reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to mean finishing something. Sometimes, it’s simply about trying, playing and discovering something new. #TAUKOmagazine #buttonmasala

Vor einem Jahr habe ich einen Designwettbewerb vom @taukomagazine gewonnen! 😍 Und damit begann eine ganz besondere Reise: Gemeinsam mit dem TAUKO-Team und Stefanie Kroth durfte ich drei Designs für das Magazin entwickeln.

AURA, BREEZE & PURE sind Teil der neuen TAUKO Issue No. 21 zum Thema RE-DESIGN!

Heute zeige ich euch meine persönlichen Lieblingsdetails:

❤️ Ein elegantes, doppellagiges Chiffonkleid – nur aus Rechtecken und ganz ohne Schnittmuster!

❤️ Ein super bequemes Top, das Nähen und Button Masala auf eine ganz neue Weise verbindet.

❤️ Ein Rock, der nur 6 Buttons und keine einzige Naht braucht!

Ein riesiges Dankeschön an das TAUKO-Team und Stefanie Kroth für die tolle Zusammenarbeit, den kreativen Austausch und die Möglichkeit, meine Ideen Wirklichkeit werden zu lassen!

One year ago, I won a design competition by @taukomagazine! 🥹🥰

Together with the TAUKO team and Stefanie Kroth, I had the amazing opportunity to develop three designs for Issue No. 21 – RE-DESIGN!

Today I'm sharing my favorite details: an elegant chiffon dress made entirely from rectangles, a comfy top combining sewing and Button Masala, and a skirt made with just 6 buttons – no sewing required!
