Recently both Chris and myself (Ben) realised that our page had been running for over 3 months and we hadn’t really taken the time to introduce ourselves. And we felt what better way to do this than to share the 3 favourite Blancpain watches in our collections.

So here we have my three. Dive, dress, and sports chronograph, in 3 different materials and from 3 completely separately ends of what Blancpain has/does produce. For me each feels uniquely ‘Blancpain’ and yet they also could not feel more different - I love the variety of case materials; titanium, white gold, steel... Roman numerals, military dial, large baton markers. I am very lucky to get to enjoy these 3 beauties!

Heading into the weekend with the @blancpain1735 1185 featuring a rarely seen blue dial that was possibly only for the Japanese market.

Boy, Blancpain sure do know how to make a bracelet.

I wish this was an NWA, but alas, nope! 💛
Huge thank you to Tudor Boutique Glasgow for the invitation to watch the Black Ferns 🇳🇿 vs. Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 rugby game! Heart was with Scotland but … Tudor sponsors the NZ team, right? It was a win for me nevertheless.

Oh and I got this on the wrist thanks to a fellow enthusiast! All I needed was an aisle seat and running shoes but … she was too nice, and I couldn’t make a run for it. 😉

The Fifty Fathoms 1000 series can cause a casual on-looker to do a double-take… “That doesn’t look like a Fifty Fathoms?!”. It certainly looks nothing like its predecessors, with the 1970s resulting in some of the more unusual looking Blancpain dive watches.

The tonneau-shaped case is unmistakable, and the lineup involved some seriously funky (retro!) colours - think yellow bezels, orange lume, alongside more conventional watches like the one pictured. As the quartz crisis then took hold, we never got to see how this particular design might have developed.

Class day out today; 15,000 steps and about 45 exposures of Kodak UltraMax 400, and I have to say it felt good going analog for the day. Fingers crossed they come out alright!

So far, I am loving the views and scenic coastlines of Montenegro, obviously paired with the perfect watch for the day: the Tudor Black Bay Pro, which has been a great travel companion so far.

There’s something about wearing a well-worn leather strap on a vintage-inspired dive watch. Right out of 1968 - the year of the watch this Bathyscaphe is inspired by.

I’m sure this Serica 6190 Commando has superpowers 👀

This watch has no right to look this good, but damn it gets me every time I look at it, it proceeds to blow my socks off! Even with the gloomy weather we are having right now, that inky black dial just comes to life.

Been a while since I’ve had it on the Bonklip, but there is no beating the comfort and rugged look it gives to this watch 😎

Can the rain do one now please? 🌧️

The distinctive blue-purple hue of the anti-reflective coating on the Léman series crystals never fails to bring us joy – as seen here on the flyback chronograph perpetual calendar reference 2585F.

Some people report this coating scratches easily though meaning crystals have been replaced over time with functionally better, but less fun, glass.

If you ever have one of these in hand, get it by a window during the day to see if it has that characteristic pop of colour!

Bathyscaphe 38mm - Ben B. Having become obsessed with the Fifty Fathoms via the Blancpain x Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms, I had long been wondering how I would dip my toe into the waters of a ‘real’ one. To be honest, the Bathyscaphe had not been hugely on my radar, but the more I learned about it, the more it drew me in.

This is after all, a steel 300m dive watch, a genuinely capable tool - but with a more ‘dressed up’ and ‘under the radar’ feeling compared to the full fat Fifty Fathoms. Perfectly sized for my wrist in its 38mm guise, with less negative space on the dial than the equivalent 43mm - for me, it all works, and I love it.

On this occasion I was wearing it on an Admiraloty Grey Phoenix NATO strap, courtesy of @patinanationale - brings the watch back to its tool-like roots.
