A few months ago, some of the members of my Travelling Journal group thought we would set up an interim group, while we wait for Round 2 .. we’ve called ourselves the ‘Keen Beans’ The first one I received was Hannah G’s PHOTO DESCRIPTION: Keziah holds a mustard yellow journal with hand drawn floral stickers. The words ‘Keen Beans Traveling Journal Hannah G’ are stuck on the journal on lilac and pink backgrounds with an orange fish in the top corner I asked Hannah what her favourite colours were and tried to incorporate a theme throughout the spreads I made. I used an earthy/ floral themed background papers, plant themed stickers, a vintage music sheet and magazine cut outs. I added paint swatches and made my own patterns with brush pens in the same tones. PHOTO DESCRIPTION: Keziah holds the journal open to show a two page spread. There is a magazine cut-out of green, red, yellow and grey markers stuck across both pages with a rip in the middle. The page on your left also has washi tape samples in a glassine bag, a musical page which says ‘add more stickers to the paint samples’, paint samples in turquoise, olive green and navy, with stickers added and shapes cut out. The page on your right has a paint sampler with 6 shades of green, a note to Hannah to add more to the page, stickers and a wax seal in colours to match the spread. There is also a white sheet of paper with a beige border and leaf effect in the bottom corner.. as well as yellow, green, pink tissue paper and a hand drawn grid effect along both pages. I punched shapes and added stickers to the swatches… leaving space and instructions for others to add some too I stuck some of the shapes throughout the spreads and kept some for my own journal PHOTO DESCRIPTION: A close up of the previous page, Keziah is lifting one of the paint samples I also included some washi and loose paint samples that Hannah could add to future journals. I stored them in a glassine bag, stapled to the page As much as I love when others share the same favourite colours/ interests as me… it’s a refreshing challenge when they don’t and I really enjoy sourcing things to make a theme match their personality. Happy International Women’s Day 💜 Here are some amazing women-led brands I’ve supported recently, along with some of the lovely women who support my business too. Running a small business takes so much work, so I always love showing support where I can. @herbzandpotions – I love Jeanne’s teas, hot chocolate, and cold drinks. Everything she makes is so good, and she also supports my brand by selling some of my products at the market, which I really appreciate 😘 @blomma_beauty – Stocks my products and supports so many small businesses. Karen and Lolly are both so lovely, and it means a lot to have that kind of support in the small business community 🥰 @beautyfoliouk – Emma is so supportive when it comes to promoting small brands through her posts and magazines. She’s such a lovely person and has been supporting Ezápé Naturals for years, which I’m really grateful for 💚 @sao_wellnessskincare – Me and my daughter both love her Face Jam. We also chat on here from time to time about life and business, which is one of the things I love about being part of the small business community 🥰 @bycandicechenade – I bought some cards and bookmarks from Candice and the quality is fantastic. It’s such a shame her store will be closing at the end of this month, wishing her all the best for what’s next 💚 @karin_akesson_design – I met Karin at Old Spitalfields Market. My sister has bought from her before and said how lovely she was, and I recently ordered some personalised water bottles for my toddlers which they love. The quality is amazing ☺️ Supporting women in business means so much to me, and I’m grateful for every single person who has supported Ezápé Naturals along the way. Last year wanting to share the fun we have @blackculturemarket Jaye decided to find some fellow brands just as crazy as her, to do 1 dance trend The lovely ladies of @melaninchildstories @terrecandle @bycandicechenade were happy to join the madness What was meant to be 1 dance challenge, morphed into a whole dance catalogue. Often times done incorrectly 😂 What started as a little fun, became something we really enjoyed 💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿 We’re extremely sad one of our founding dancers is leaving 😢😢 @bycandicechenade our dancing days at the BlackCulture market may be over, but our synergies most definitely are not!!!
