Something I’m currently refining in my business is how I showcase client work. For a long time I believed the best approach was simply sharing the photos themselves, beautiful portraits, behind-the-scenes moments, and highlights from the shoot. But lately I’ve been thinking about it differently. Because behind every photoshoot is a story. When I focus on sharing the story of the founder, what they’ve built, what they’ve overcome, and the impact they’re creating, the work takes on a completely different meaning. For context, I’m a personal brand photographer who works with founders and entrepreneurs to create imagery that captures their authority, presence, and purpose. And the truth is, I’m sitting on so many powerful stories. One that stands out is my client Emily. After receiving a life-saving kidney transplant from her mom, Emily went on to start a nonprofit foundation called The Butterfly Effect Association of Canada @butterflyeffectcanada , supporting others navigating the organ transplant journey. When we planned her brand photoshoot, it wasn’t just about creating content for a website. It was about telling the full story. Her strength. Her mission. And the people and companions who supported her along the way, including her loyal emotional support dog, Penny, who joined us during the shoot. Those details matter because they show the heart behind the work. That realization is shaping how I share client work moving forward. Because when we tell the stories behind the images, we start to see what’s truly possible. And this is exactly the kind of storytelling we dive into during my Brand Revival and Brand Showcase VIP experiences, helping founders visually bring their mission and leadership to life.
