What a celebration of beauty & cinema with @cartier! 20 years of @sofiacoppola’s “Marie Antoinette”, Versailles, the cast, the talks, the private visits, and the whimsical, exceptional Petit Trianon 💞💐🌹🌸🌺💞💞

Such an inspiring trip. Thank you @ehab_ammar and @rbz.sarah for these dreamy few days❤️

Travel has a curious way of collapsing time. A place can transport us backwards as easily as it carries us somewhere new, letting memory and discovery exist side by side. Is that the true privilege of travelling well — not simply seeing what has changed, but understanding how we have changed alongside it?

Some return to a coastline thirteen years on and find their children playing where family once gathered for a different milestone. Some find it in a temple in Bangkok, in teachings that ask us to slow down instead of speed up. Some find it in a convent or a palazzo, reinvented but never erased, proof that preservation and comfort were never really at odds.

And some find it on a train winding through ancient forests, where a masterclass in mechanical timepieces becomes, quietly, a lesson in paying closer attention — to the landscape, to the story, to the people beside you.

This issue is a vibrant exploration of all the ways time folds back on itself when we travel.

So often the question of legacy is a murky and complicated one. Is legacy defined by mountainous accomplishments, or how we are remembered by those we love? Is it about how we craft our lives, or simply how loud and colourfully we live them? Are tradition and innovation at odds, or are they compliments? The question has no one answer.

Many turn to finding their answer in the space between the lines, stepping forward whilst always gazing back, firmly clasping their roots as they attempt to propagate new ones. Many allow their life’s work to speak for itself, finding certainty in the art of craftsmanship, creation for creation’s sake. And many create lasting legacies because they simply cannot help but try to change the world, for themselves, and for others.

Our June issue is a vibrant exploration of answers to the unanswerable questions.

There are events you attend, and then there are experiences that stay with you long after they end.
From Jeklin Kim’s story, which brought me and many others to tears to Salma Tammam’s inspiring journey from Egypt these women proved that the most meaningful businesses are often born from personal challenges and a desire to help others.
Each conversation reminded me that we all have the power to create change, no matter where we start. Thank you @cartier @cartierawards for creating such a powerful platform and for bringing together incredible women from around the world. And thank you Cartier team @sophdoir @souhir.ben.hamida @shathalkhatib @rihab7 @rbz.sarah and @raniaakhan for the unforgettable moments and lasting memories
