In 2019, Andy Bell headed further into the electronic underground with GLOK, folding acid house, krautrock, ambient drift and shoegaze atmosphere into something hypnotic and distinctly his own. Motorik rhythms, glowing synths and slow-burn psychedelia make this ideal territory for fans of leftfield electronics, late-night headphones and records that get better the deeper you go.

Andy Bell is a founding member, guitarist and songwriter of shoegaze pioneers RIDE, whose landmark records Nowhere and Going Blank Again helped define the sound of early-’90s British guitar music. He later spent a decade playing bass with Oasis, followed by Beady Eye, before returning to RIDE and developing his own solo work. Under the name GLOK, Bell explores the more electronic side of his musical world, drawing on krautrock, acid house, ambient and psychedelia.

Our exclusive repress of ‘Dissident’ in beautiful splatter available for preorder now, as well as an exclusive repress of its companion - ‘Dissident Remixed’.

Only on Impressed.

With thanks and love to @andybebop @bytes_label

Sacred Ambient Works: Sally Daley

New on the Seeds site: the first, but hopefully not the last, of an occasional series of guest posts, from our good friend Joe Clay, co-founder of Bytes.

Joe goes digging into the music of Sally Daley, the musical director at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Chicago, who released around 15 cassettes on her own Tau-Spirit Music Productions label in the late 80s and early 90s. Her 1990 tape My God and My All is warm organ drones, tape hiss and aquatic synths, with the title piece subtitled ‘A Seaside Meditation’. Midair Museum reissued it digitally in May

Puro eclecticismo sonoro.

Música con identidad. El ritmo lo marcamos nosotros. 🔌
🎧 22:00h | Ibiza Sónica (95.2 FM / App / Web)

Pure sonic eclecticism. This week’s episode of Habitación 615 hits Ibiza Sónica Radio packed with beautiful contrasts. 🌑🛰️

A session that defies strict genres: from AP Mono’s synth-jazz and Matias Aguayo’s unique rhythm, to Parissior’s LP premiere, an iconic breakbeat throwback by Propellerheads, and Glok’s deep finale. Tracks chosen from the heart and played from beginning to end. ⚡

Music with an identity. We set the pace. 🔌

Analogue brute force. Digital tidying up. Steve Reich as rhythm generator. The best remix either of them has ever heard…and shoes.
Andy Bell (GLOK) and Timothy Clerkin interviewed each other for R$N.

FROID DUB _ « We had the chance to remix a track from the GLOK / CLERKIN new album — two legends of the UK music scene and two incredibly cool personalities. Timothy Clerkin, compulsive collector of synths maestro of electro and GLOK, instrumental project of Andy Bell, bassist of Ride and Oasis, and a brilliantly versatile musician. »
