We had a lovely, long Festival weekend last month with film screenings, a guided prayer labyrinth walk, a keynote address, a performance by the C.S. Lewis House Band, a seminar filled with insight and camaraderie, and two guest sermons at Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Petoskey—so many activities, and so many lives touched!
.
We are grateful to all who helped facilitate all of our events: Reverend Andrew Lazo, Dr. Christin Ditchfield Lazo, Abigail Santamaria, David Bates, Sarah Arthur, Curt Coffield, Great Lakes Center for the Arts, The Lyric Theatre, Lavender Hill Farm, Beards Brewery, McLean & Eakin Booksellers, and, of course, our event attendees!
.
And a big thank you to Jace Coffield (@j_isabel) for helping capture the weekend with photos and videos!

Last September, we hosted our first-ever C.S. Lewis House Band performance, and the group is back again, led by C.S. Lewis Festival Board Member Curt Coffield—but at a new venue.
.
This showcase of songs based on Lewis and his writings is set to take place on stage at Great Lakes Center for the Arts following Reverend Andrew Lazo’s Keynote Address on Friday, September 19.
.
The band includes Curt Coffield on vocals and acoustic guitar, Jace Coffield on vocals, Ken Verheecke on electric guitar, Beth Delaney on piano, John Delaney on drums, and Joe Troyer on bass.
.
A fun and lively way to conclude the evening, we can’t wait to hear what the music group has in store for us!
.
The C.S. Lewis House Band performance is part of the Keynote Address, with tickets being $10/person for the double-feature event. Please visit greatlakescfa.org to make your reservation!

It took us extra this year to get into our summer groove. Our end of March Ice Storms delayed and canceled much as we all dug out and repaired.
So summer evenings in Northern Michigan are even more the savored this year. Jace and my love for finding biking trails grows. Tonight’s ride around sunset was most memorable.
