This Christmas, despite the so-called ceasefire, Israel continues to bombard Palestinians with airstrikes and shelling while starving the population and maintaining a brutal military occupation. Palestinian Christians are marking another Christmas under siege. In Gaza, families are observing the holiday inside damaged churches amid devastation and displacement. In Bethlehem, celebrations are suppressed, movement remains restricted, and the collapse of pilgrimage and tourism continues to devastate Christian livelihoods. Across historic Palestine, Israeli checkpoints, closures, raids, and permit denials have prevented many Christians from reaching Bethlehem or celebrating publicly at all. In honor of all our people, both alive and martyred, we will continue to fight for our demands here in the belly of the beast: an end to all U.S. aid to Israel, divestment from Israel bonds, holding BDS targets accountable, and a full arms embargo.

Two weeks ago, we rallied in support of Colombian President Petro after his visa was unjustly revoked by the racist, reactionary Trump administration, to punish Petro for his unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people. In the face of Trump’s illegal and inhumane attacks against Latin America and the Caribbean—from threats of war on Venezuela, Trump’s piracy of Venezuelan oil tankers headed to Cuba in international waters, the staging of troops and F-35B stealth fighters in Puerto Rico, and the revocation of Petro’s visa—it’s essential for us to stand in solidarity with the people of Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, and across Latin America in their fight against US imperialism! Last night we supported AAAN and the Kurdi family during a protest marking 2 years since Murod Kurdi, a young Palestinian man, was killed by a drunk driver, Leanne Cusack, in Oak Lawn. Oak Lawn Police allowed Cusack to leave the scene, even after she admitted to drinking, fled the scene, and called her lawyer instead of calling emergency services. We have joined in Oak Lawn every month for the Police and Fire Commission meeting to demand justice, as the Oak Lawn Police have a pattern and practice of racial profiling, racist policing, and incredible violence against communities of color, like in the instance of police brutality and hospitalization of teenager Hadi Abuetelah. The Oak Lawn Police routinely discriminate against communities of color, like through their use of traffic stops, where 30% of stops are made against Black people who make up less than 10% of Oak Lawn’s population. The Police and Fire Commission regularly displays animosity towards community members, disrespects the Kurdi family and Murod’s memory, and fails to function as a body that is capable of accountability. For all of these reasons, we will continue to demand justice for Murod, Hadi, and all those harmed, while also calling on IL Attorney General, Kwame Raoul to open an investigation into Oak Lawn Police.

Yesterday, 1,500 people rallied in Little Village and marched down 26th Street to resist the racist and reactionary Trump administration’s attacks on immigrants and demand no more deportations! This protest, initiated by the Immigrant Rights Working Committee of the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, was held in response to the @legalizationforall network’s call for 10 days of action to protest Trump’s racist executive orders. A number of immigrant rights organizations also joined such as Casa DuPage Workers Center, Familia Latina Unida, Chicago Community & Workers Rights, and other movement allies. When We Fight, We Win! Hundreds of protesters on Michigan avenue yesterday demanded an end to U.S. aid to Israel and an end to the genocide in Gaza during the Coalition for Justice in Palestine’s black Friday protest. As protesters took the streets, others disrupted the Michigan Ave Apple Store from within during a day of international protests of Apple stores worldwide. In addition to robbing the global south of their resources and exploiting the Congolese people in horrific working conditions, Apple has fired Palestinian workers and allies while silencing workers on issues related to Palestine. There will be no business as usual during a genocide. The people’s demands remain clear as companies like Starbucks, Apple, and Zara will remain targets of boycotts, sanctions, and divestments campaigns as long as they continue their racist, zionist, capitalist exploitation and genocide of oppressed people from Chicago to the Congo to Palestine. It is not just one rotten apple, it is the whole damn system that is guilty as hell.

The communities of the 14th, 17th, and 24th police districts convened a people’s town hall yesterday on the northside to say it loud and say it clear - oath keeper cops aren’t welcome here! We were joined by 100 community members, the OIG’s office, members of the CCPSA, alders, and grassroots organizers to discuss a way forward, as so far the 8 CPD officers with ties to the Oath Keepers have yet to face consequences for their affiliation to the white supremacist group. The People made it clear, there is no room for oath keeper cops here!

Racist sexist anti-gay, Rapaport go away! Shame on the @thevicchicago and @jamusa for hosting zionist scum and unfunny ugly clown, @michaelrapaport, for an evening of hate and racism. Despite mass community demands that made it clear Rapaport and his untalented racist “comedy” are not welcome in our city, the production company and venue still decided to host the event for an underwhelming crowd of white supremacists. Outside the venue, the crowd outnumbered the small attendance of drunk zionists, who bought tickets for 40% of listed sale prices because Rapaport comedically failed at selling any tickets. At the end of his undoubtably neanderthal time on stage, the zionist attendees exited the venue in an embarrassing display of white supremacist childish behavior, while hiding behind the pigs who aided them in putting hands on our people. Meanwhile, coward Rapaport snuck out a back door with a multi-car police escort because at the end of the day, he is a spineless zionist chicken who is incapable of showing his face in front of the people he advocates violence against. Rapaport you racist clown! You’re not welcome in this town! Racists go home!
