Two very nice bars from @heindeverre !

1️⃣ 71% dark chocolate made with beans from Papua New Guinea with notes of liquorice and a pleasant acidity that reminds me of passion fruit

2️⃣ 69% dark chocolate bar made with the same beans, but also with cloves and nutmeg, which bring a nice exotic twist to the chocolate

I hate showing up empty-handed.

The Maluku in me. 😂

Part of what I love about travelling is buying little souvenirs for family or sending postcards. Analog is the future. That’s my thesis lol.

So for our BBNJ gathering in Nadi, I asked everyone to bring something small to share. Something from home that wouldn’t take over their suitcase.

Maple candy, stickers, keychains, postcards. I brought chocolate from my niece, who runs @cacaospice a tiny shop in Amsterdam. We had a table of “swag” in the back of the room.

We all shared a little bit of home.
We all took a little piece with us.

"I Don't Know What Amsterdam Is Anymore" A quote from a friend. Many good people I know are reporting negative energy. Stolen bikes stolen flowers, stolen stolen hearts...I only want to report positive actions. Sometimes life hands you too much for silence. #Amsterdam is supposed to be one of the safest cities in the world. As many of us know the stats are lying to us. It's almost impossible to get the police to respond for anything. You call them and they tell you make an appointment for you to file a report. Meanwhile the criminals are walking away with your goodness. So yes in the middle of the day a #Flowerbike I'm supposed to deliver to the client after the refresh is missing. I cannot afford to replace him. Cameras are here but only police can access? I'm sure the Hater threw the bike in the water close by. No way they ride it around my name is on him. Meanwhile Michelle was here and cannot come outside, all year long Michelle is stuck in her home, no sunshine in the park no walks down the canals no riding her own FlowerBikes. People walking by stealing from her baskets stealing from our boat. She can only watch. The Hate is here directly in the broad daylight. You must defend yourself here. More than a dozen of my friends have experienced similar issues, no response, you must do your own police work. As I was out looking for my FlowerBike I was assaulted by drunk British tourists who tried to steal a flower from my bike as I was riding him . Just after that a local man threatened to "break me" if I ever use my squeeze horn again around his dogs. Who apparently hate the squeeze sounds???? So yes three acts of negativity in one afternoon. I'm bruised again tired and my heart is broken. I only want happiness for my Michelle, please stop breaking her heart...she does not have any strength for the world anymore. Michelles #Epilepsy is very active if under stress or confusion. Michelle is confused by how the world treats each other... She only wants a Cure and there is none. I always say #LoveIsTheCure but is it enough?

Cloves and nutmeg are an integral part of Maluku’s agricultural heritage, also known as the Spice Islands. Cloves derive from the aromatic flower buds which are harvested from the Syzygium aromaticum tree. Nutmeg is the seed of the genus Myristica tree. Both cloves and nutmeg have been a crucial element in culture, cuisine and economy for centuries.

Tea and chocolate, each already fascinating on its own.

But together, they became something softer. Stranger. Almost magical

💝 Last Saturday, we gathered around the table for an evening of tea and chocolate.

We tasted warm brews, cold infusions, fresh harvest greens, roasted notes, floral edges, and deep cacao.

This time, we also had a birthday guest who received the tasting as a birthday gift. 🎁 was very happy time indeed with chocolate and tea.

That made the evening feel even warmer: a small celebration, shared through cups, stories, and unexpected flavours.

Spending a few days in Amsterdam and had the chance to visit @cacaospice store, where I could have a great discussion on chocolate and taste some nice samples!!

Also got a few bars with a mix of Dutch 🇳🇱 chocolate makers, but also some makers from other countries.

More than looking forward to tasting these bars!
