📚 From Policy to Practice: Lessons from Year One of Universal Screening for Reading Difficulties in California Last Friday, we convened with education leaders, researchers, and practitioners to reflect on California’s first year of universal reading screening, and how we can turn policy into meaningful support for students. We are immensely grateful to our co-hosts at @ucsfdyslexiacenter, our wonderful panelists, and everyone who joined the conversation with one shared priority: putting students first, always. Your insights and collaboration are essential to ensuring students with reading difficulties are identified early and connected with the evidence-based supports they need to thrive. The CA public school system will never live down this last decade of government-sanctioned child abuse. Indoctrination and brainwashing children to believe your “gender” is a feeling in your head and not material reality. Imagine teaching a kindergartener that some boys are actually girls. Imagine teaching a 7th grader that some men can get pregnant. My remarks to the Davis school board this past Thursday evening.
