Do hard things

Not just for the physical, but for the mental as well

Cadin does a great job breaking down the carryover effects of hard physical training to your everyday life

How you make decisions, talk to yourself, and how confident you become can all stem from your ability to push yourself to become the best version possible

Training beyond outputs

Had a fantastic chat with my guy @cadinmaynard and I wanted to highlight his growth in S&C and his understanding of the deeper responsibilities we have as a coach

It’s really easy to get caught up in the numbers, outputs, and results that we forget we’re dealing with human beings in front of us with emotions, goals, and dreams

Tune in episode is live on all major platforms

Until next time

Years ago, @learnerlab’s TED Talk opened my eyes. It forced me to truly self-reflect on my experiences and what’s been holding me back.

The reason I fell in love with training was never just because of the physical benefits.
It was because I watched people use it to connect, build community, and become more than what they believed they could be.

I love performance.
I love watching training translate to the field, the court, or the career someone has spent years chasing.
But over time, I’ve realized training offers something much bigger.
How you approach training is often how you approach life.
Every workout is a rehearsal for the person you’re becoming.

I’ve lived fearfully.
- I’ve craved certainty.
- I’ve resisted change.
- I’ve been afraid to fail.
- I’ve avoided struggle.

For a long time, those fears quietly made my decisions.
I’m choosing to confront them now because I believe my greatest potential exists on the other side of them.
And I believe yours does too.

I’ve always wanted to create an environment where people feel challenged, supported, and connected through that journey.
But first, I had to live it myself.
Now we live it together.

I was the kid who looked up to people who built communities around growth and self-development.
Now I hope to be that person for someone else.

That’s why Chasing Elite exists.
To build high-performing humans while helping them discover more about themselves along the way.

Because elite isn’t a destination.
It’s the commitment to keep pursuing the person you’re capable of becoming.

There’s always something to chase.
And it’s always worth chasing.

Wanted to share a few of my favorite takeaways from an episode full of valuable insight from @aefeit.

Reflection isn’t easy, but it’s necessary for growth. If you want to grow, look inward first.

When you have prepared for any situation, you will be ready for any situation. It’s easy to be Confident if that’s the case.

If you want a promotion, a specific position, or envision yourself achieving a certain goal. Act AS IF you have. Actions create Habits.

This episode is full of golden nuggets like these. Link in bio if you care to listen yourself!

Athlete’s progress is only as good as their recovery outside of the gym.

How can we continue to find unique ways to teach and inform athletes and parents on the importance of recovery?
