The life of a very cool girl is put on hold when her family friend/reluctant peer falls into a fairy-tale-like slumber.

Please be advised that this play contains mild depictions of transphobia, minimal references to suicidality, and sexual content.

a very happy aapi month from the asians of urgent care #asiancare ♡

—

“for a moment I could see all of them. generations and generations of girls, and each looked a little, little bit like me.”

more than anything else, to me, urgent care is about the decision two people make to come together and start a family. it’s about envisioning a world where you look into the face of a little girl and see both your past, stretching all the way back into infinity, and a future with the person you love. it’s about crossing oceans, carrying your mother’s hair, her eyes, her nose, then choosing to share it with someone else. this aapi month, as i reflect on all the girls who came before me, living in bodies so constantly scrutinized and medicalized, i find solace and solidarity in the world of urgent care— and i invite you all to join me.

with love,
cypress cai 蔡怡畅
