4th burn, and this one was completely different. I led Discotheque camp this year with an incredible team of leaders. So much work, but I’m glad I did it. It connected me to people in a whole new way, and reminded me why I keep coming back to the dust.

We threw two amazing parties I’ll never forget, and we built our new art car from the ground up. She came out beautiful, just wish we got to ride her more.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every camp member. To my fellow leaders, everyone who arrived early to build this dream with their own hands, and everyone who stayed late to tear it all down and leave the playa spotless. This was all you.

Next year we come back stronger and more planned. 344 days to man burn

This year’s Burning Man was something else. Honestly, it was probably the most transformational one for me. The connections I made with people and the realization that I need to work on making connections myself and solving a lot of my own issues—it really hit me. Every year, I feel like I’m at a different stage of life and need a different Burn. Last year was all about crying and healing from my previous love and a tough separation, opening my heart up to new friendships and new loves. This year, it was more about understanding that the connections I make shouldn’t be based on money, status, or what I can gain from someone.

Burning Man is all about connecting with people on a deeper level, beyond who they are, what they have, or their power. There’s this randomness to it, and that’s the beauty. It’s about connecting through the soul. Some of the random people I met there shared messages with me that were exactly what I needed to hear, and it was a reminder of how important it is to stay open to these kinds of transformational experiences.

In Farsi, we have a saying about being “khaki,” which means being humble, like the dust or dirt. And Burning Man really pushes you to be just that—and literally makes you dusty. It really makes you *khaki*. It’s a place of decommodification—no one cares who you are, how much you have, what have you achieved or who’s behind some of the big camps and art pieces. It’s a lesson in humility.

I’m so grateful to all my friends who were part of my journey this year and supported my transformation. Burning Man has a way of teaching you something new every year, because every year you’re facing different challenges and are at a different point in life. Each burn is a new journey of self-discovery exactly when you need it. I was definitely on a wrong path and this Burn was a great wake up call.

Keep moving, physically and mentally.
