POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi everyone! Back at the start of this month (where has the time gone?!) @melharareads tagged me in ✨️the strawberry and sage challenge✨️ and I felt it would be a shame to miss it as the prompts are so fun! So here are my picks...

a character as sweet as candy
- Manchee the dog from Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking series is maybe not best described as sweet but is so loyal and amazing and deserves this moment of recognition! 🥺

a book that made you giggle and kick your feet
- The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood does the fake relationship trope so well! 🤭💖

a book you loved with a pink cover
- Where the Crawdads Sing is so atmospheric and I really enjoyed the plot twist at the end!

a trope you love to read in a romance
- this may be basic of me but I always love enemies to lovers! I love the tension and when you can slowly see the hatred turn into intense passion and desire 🔥 (e.g.The Cruel Prince by Holly Black)

a book that made you cry happy tears
- Remarkably Bright Creatures is a really moving story and the ending in particular had me feeling a bit upset but ultimately happy for the characters as they found their peace 🐙

a book you would love to re-read
- I read The Song of Achilles sooo long ago now and it instantly became one of my favourite books! But can I put myself through the emotional devastation again? 💔

a character you'd be besties with
- Zhu Chongba from She Who Became the Sun is the kinda delulu baddie you need beside you in life to reassure you that everything is gonna turn out okay (even if you don't quite believe them)☀️

Pick a prompt and let me know your pick below!

Tagging a few bookish friends to join in, but no pressure ofc! 🥰

Sorry friends, I tagged you earlier but realised i messed up so had to reupload for peace of mind ( any further typos are not my buisness 😭)

Tagging y'all again, but no pressure 🫶

It’s still hot, gang! A red, orange and yellow stack to mark the high temperatures🔥❤️🧡💛🥵

Absolutely aggggges ago, the lovely Georgia @pekoesbooknook tagged me to create a red, orange and yellow book stack and I thought it fit perfectly with the heat we’ve been experiencing lately.

Tbh the weather has sent me into a sort of climate crisis spiral as I firmly believe we shouldn’t be reaching these consistently high temperatures. That coupled with the reports that over 62% of the USA is experiencing a drought because water is being pumped into data centres has tipped me over the edge into believing we’re living in a dystopian reality where technology is valued over human life.

To stick with my ecological focus, I’ve tagged a few people and I challenge you to create a blue and green stack to reflect the world that we should be working hard to protect. 💙💚🌍

Thank you @craigsreads for the tag!

Posting this today means it also fits in well with the #bluemondaychallenge 💙 I'm tagging a few friends that I think might like to take part - no pressure, as always!

Mid-Year Book Celebration Tag

We love a good tag, and it’s been awhile since I’ve done one! And yes, I included a handful of these in my mid-year check-in already, but pretend this is the first time you’re seeing them mentioned as my favorites 😅

A big shout out to Sara @kumu.pepper for letting me use her STUNNING artwork of Aerius from We Love You, Bunny 💕 (This is the piece of art that confirmed my fan casting of Connor Storrie as Aerius!)

Tagging some friends, and if you read this far, consider yourself tagged too!

💬 Have you read any of these books? Did they reach your expectations?

There are so many books that have exceeded my expectations and others that completely did not, but every one is a learning opportunity as they help me develop the expectations I hold for other books! 💗

I have tagged a few bookish friends who may enjoy joining this trend if they have not already (absolutely no pressure 💕), but I would love to see the different takes on this trend from so many others!

I’ve seen loads of people get involved in this and have been very interested in all of your answers! Then @haloslibrary tagged me so I had no excuse to not join in 😌

💭Do we have any similar answers? Or are there any that surprised you?

I’ve tagged a few people but you may well have already done it so apologies if that’s the case!

✨Birthstone Stack✨

I was tagged to do a birthstone stack by @deadslowreader and here's my attempt !! I honestly had to look up what mine was and green books these are all the green books I have!! I'm yet to read Crypt, the Overstory, and Earthlings but i'm looking forward to all of them for different reasons 🙂‍↕️💚 I've tagged a few people but as always no pressure !

I've barely been reading as pokopia has taken over and life got a bit stressful recently but hoping to start reading and posting more over the next couple of weeks! I've got some arcs to finish (immoranta, kill billionaire, and eat bitter) so some excellent reading is on the horizon 👀

Do you have any plans for the upcoming break? 🌱

One book, three quotes! (Well, four because I couldn’t resist a bonus quote 😅)🍊🐉🗡️

I first read ‘The Priory of the Orange Tree’ by Samantha Shannon in 2023 and then I read it again a year later because I couldn’t get it out of my head. It is a beautifully written epic fantasy with some of the very best characters who are still very dear to me. It is a book that questions politics and religion, power and morality, with dragons and magic and love at its core.

Thank you to @shona_reads_in_devon who tagged me in this! I’ve tagged a few others in turn but, as always, there’s no pressure!

Greens for St Patrick’s Day? Groundbreaking. 🇮🇪🍀💚

Happy St Patrick’s Day to all who celebrate! It’s my dad’s birthday so, to me, it’s historically been more about cake than Guinness but I’ll happily partake in both!

I was also tagged in a ‘shades of green’ stack quite a while ago by my bestie @those_fantasy_book_feels so, happily, this fits the bill for that too! 🥰💚

I’ve tagged a few people - show me those green books! 💚📚 (If you want to - there’s absolutely no pressure!)
