I’ve always loved the idea of making my own lures, so for this project I took some inspiration from @gotcha_lures and combined it with something I drink every day. My @yerbamadre

I designed it, 3D printed it, and took it out to see if it would catch anything. No fish this time, but that’s part of the process. Back to the drawing board.

That’s what Tinker Tackle is all about — making things, trying new ideas, and seeing what happens.

For years, I’ve had the privilege of documenting some of life’s most beautiful moments.

Weddings.
Families.
Athletes.
Entrepreneurs.
Women chasing waves.
People celebrating milestones.

But somewhere between the smiles and the photographs, I realized something…

The most meaningful stories were rarely the ones in front of my camera.

They were the conversations afterward.

The stories of loss, resilience, second chances, faith, heartbreak, healing, and hope.

I’ve spent a lifetime collecting stories.

Growing up sailing across oceans.
Starting over more than once.
Experiencing homelessness.
Walking through addiction.
Learning that our hardest seasons often become the ones that shape us the most.

Those experiences changed me. They changed the questions I ask. And they reminded me that every person carries a story worth hearing.

That’s why I’m creating Salt & Light.

Not to interview the most famous people.

But to sit down with remarkable people from every walk of life and talk about the chapters that almost prevented them from becoming who they are today.

Because I believe someone out there needs to hear those stories.

Maybe that someone is you.

I’m so excited to share that we’re officially recording episodes now, and if all goes to plan, our very first episode will launch in August.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning. I truly can’t wait to introduce you to the incredible people who have trusted me with their stories.

Here’s to finding light—even in life’s hardest chapters. ☀️

Two years ago, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was supposed to start something.

Not another podcast.
Not another interview show.

Something deeper.

A place where successful people could set aside the highlight reel and talk about the moments that almost broke them.

The addiction.
The loss.
The failure.
The grief.
The fear.

The moments that shaped who they became.

The problem was, I had no studio, no plan, and no idea how to make it happen.

Then one day, on the side of a road in Grover Beach, we found a 1962 Little Dipper trailer.

A year later, she’s become a mobile storytelling studio.

And in a few short weeks, we’ll be filming our first episodes of Salt & Light.

Because sometimes the story that inspires us most isn’t how someone succeeded…

It’s how they survived.

It’s been HOT and Santa Paula Canyon is already as busy as it gets. With more visitation, we’re seeing more trash and graffiti each week. So, let’s get after it.

Join LPFA and @santapaulacanyon on SATURDAY, MARCH 7th for a full scale cleanup of the canyon! We need all the help we can get. We’ll walk the length of the trail and stop at swimming holes to pick up what others unfortunately left behind. Should be a nice warm day with lots of water flowing….
