You never know where diamonds might be hiding… 💎🎤

While I was on radio tour, I stumbled into a little karaoke bar in Boscobel, Wisconsin, and heard a woman sing who absolutely blew me away. I went in for a fun night out and came home with an idea for a song. Funny how that happens!

“Star of Boscobel” is a little nod to all the incredible singers in small towns who deserve to be heard. ❤️

I co wrote this with some incredible writers 🥰

I loved my grandparents houses. They each had so many memories and smells of food that I still cherish to this day. What is a memory you love about your grandparents house?

This was us. My mom, my dad, me and three of my siblings, all of us still just little. My dad had just graduated from the police academy. He was excited. We were proud. And my parents were moving forward into a life they couldn’t possibly have known the shape of yet. My Grammy taking the pic, equally as proud!

What makes me smile is that this picture isn’t even the whole family. Three more siblings would come later. ❤️

Looking at it now, I wonder what my parents imagined life would look like all these years later. I’m sure where we all ended up, the places we’ve gone, the things we’ve accomplished, the heartbreaks we’ve carried, the changes we’ve survived and the people we’ve become…. This all probably looks very different from whatever they pictured that day.

And yet, somehow, here we are.

They had Seven kids. SEVEN!!!! A whole lot of life. Countless stories that only we fully understand. Seasons when we were incredibly close and seasons when life pulled us in different directions. Weddings, babies, careers, moves, celebrations, losses, mistakes, forgiveness, growing up and figuring things out along the way.

None of us would be exactly who we are without every single person in this family.

Maybe that’s what I love most about this picture. Nobody in it knows what’s coming. They’re simply together, proud of Dad, excited about what’s next and moving forward.

And maybe that’s all any of us really get to do.

You don’t get to know exactly where life will take you. You just keep going, keep growing, keep loving your people and one day you look back at an old photograph and realize the future you were wondering about back then is the life you’re living now. We were actually living “THE GOOD OLD DAYS.”

And through everything, what we still have is love.
We still have family.
And without every single one of us, our story simply wouldn’t be ours. ❤️

History of Us” is officially up for consideration for a Grammy nomination. I am so proud of this song and excited to share it with more of my industry peers 🥰

Now, some people might think it’s unrealistic to pursue a Grammy nomination as an indie artist, especially when you look at the incredible artists and records being considered alongside yours. But I’ve never believed in making my goals smaller simply because the odds are against me.

You have to start somewhere, and I think it’s important to put your work forward even when the outcome is uncertain. Regardless of what happens, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share it with more of the professionals and peers in an industry I love so much.

I’m also very proud to be a member of the @grammys and to have the opportunity to listen to, support, and celebrate the work of my fellow artists throughout this process.

So here’s to a fun few months of FYC season! 🤍 and remember, don’t make your dreams smaller just because they feel unlikely. Sometimes you have to be willing to aim for the thing that feels a little out of reach to make big things happen!

This summer tour has changed my perspective on what home means. Some of the places that have felt the most like home to me, aren’t the places I grew up, they’re moments, conversations or people singing and dancing to my songs.

Maybe home isn’t always your address. Maybe it’s where life reminds you who you are. ❤️ 🏠
