#Gifted #halloween #callesol #charlottenc #charlottefood

Happy International Chefs Day! 👨‍🍳 We’re using the holiday as a moment to highlight the culinary talent behind FS Food Group, starting with who we call our ‘Core Four’! These chefs help lead our kitchens, shape the menus and maintain the quality and consistency across all 18 of our restaurants. Their passion, experience, and dedication are a huge part of what makes our restaurant family so special. 📖Get to know them: Chef Paul Cruz: A familiar face back in the FS Food Group family! After previously spending 15 years with us, Paul has returned to oversee culinary operations across all our restaurants. Having worked with nearly every concept in our group, he’s a powerhouse when it comes to menu development, training, and keeping our kitchens running at their best. Pitmaster Matt Barry: The man behind the smoke! With 15 years under his belt, Matt leads the pit teams across all six Midwood Smokehouse locations, making sure we’re serving up some of the best brisket in town, day after day. Chef Shai Fargian: Chef Partner of Yafo Kitchen and the culinary leader behind all Yafo kitchens and Calle Sols, Shai brings his creativity, expertise, and passion for bold flavors to two of our restaurant concepts. Chef Tom Dyrness: For 14 years, Tom has been a driving force in the kitchen at Mama Ricotta’s. He also opened the first Little Mama’s and played a huge role in developing the menu there, too! As Executive Chef, he continues to uphold the Italian-American traditions and house-made dishes that have made Mama Ricotta’s a Charlotte favorite for 34 years. There are so many talented people across our restaurants who deserve recognition for the hard work they put in every day. While we’re highlighting our Core Four today, we want to extend a huge thank you to all of our chefs and kitchen teams who make us who we are. Your dedication, creativity, and countless hours behind the scenes never go unnoticed, and we couldn’t do what we do without you. Happy International Chefs Day!🫶

Frank’s Chili Fest is one of my favorite days of the year and favorite Plaza Midwood traditions. 🌶️ And it was PERFECT weather for chili today. Loved getting to try them all, but my favorites were made by the chefs at: • @improperpig • @callesolcafe • @theworkmansfriend ‘Til next year!

Flight prices said, “No”. But the 704 said, “Say less!” Y’all loved the first two rounds, so we’re officially making this a series! Because let’s be real—gas prices are still testing our patience, holiday spending is looming, and a plane ticket might not be in the budget right now. The good news? You don’t need a passport to take your taste buds on vacation. We’re back with part 3 of our local food spots series, serving up world-class flavors right here in our own backyard. Which one are you trying first? Swipe right for all the spots—there are some repeats because they’re some of our faves but some new ones in this round up as well! 👇 Drop your favorite local foodie “getaway” spots in the comments, and make sure to save this post for your next date night or lunch run! (And go check out parts 1 & 2 on the feed, if you missed them!)

If you’ve eaten around Charlotte for the last three decades, there’s a good chance Frank Scibelli has had something to do with it. Mama Ricotta’s came first in 1992. Then came Cantina 1511, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, Paco’s Tacos, Midwood Smokehouse, YAFO Kitchen, Little Mama’s Italian and Calle Sol. Some stayed in the family. Others became major exits — including Cantina 1511 and Bad Daddy’s. What I find interesting isn’t just the number of restaurants. It’s how many different eras of Charlotte dining one restaurant career touches. Which Scibelli concept did you know first?
