International Vietnamese Mental Health Association Panelist

Before the conversation started, I wanted to share how well I try to manage my mental health. And then I remember that being an entrepreneur comes with a lot of personal sacrifices. Visionary founders like us, at some point when building something bigger than ourselves, have to sacrifice things in our lives. And sadly most of the times, those things include physical and mental well-being.

In the entrepreneurial world, mental health so often takes a backseat. So I’m sharing this not to complain about how hard everything is, we chose this path, but to offer a glimpse into what it’s like to carry many visions and responsibilities on our shoulders, all while just trying to be normal human beings.

💜 It Was a Beautiful Day for Our First Annual TLC Pathways Conference!

Take a look back at some of the special moments from it.

We began the morning with welcoming remarks from our Executive Director, Maura Byron, Larry Landauer from the Regional Center of Orange County, and Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento, Orange County Second District, who helped us kick off this exciting milestone.

Attendees then headed into their first workshops across our two pathways, Newly Diagnosed Families and Transitioning to Adulthood, where they learned from knowledgeable presenters and had opportunities to ask questions.

Following our morning sessions, everyone gathered for lunch and our Resource Fair, connecting with local organizations, learning about available services, and discovering resources to support their families.

The afternoon continued with our final two rounds of workshops before we came together for closing remarks and our Parent Panel, ending the day with shared experiences, valuable perspectives, and meaningful discussions.

💜 A Look Back at Our First Annual TLC Pathways Conference!

What a meaningful day of learning, connection, and community! Parents, caregivers, professionals, and community members came together to explore workshops across our two TLC Pathways, learn from and ask questions of our incredible speakers, and connect directly with Orange County agencies and organizations at our Resource Fair.

From navigating a new diagnosis to preparing for the transition to adulthood, our goal was to provide families with information, resources, and connections they can carry with them beyond conference day.

Thank you to everyone who braved the heat and joined us Saturday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Orange County Family Justice Center!

For two decades, the @ocfjcfoundation has been a place where victims and families impacted by domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and elder abuse can access law enforcement, advocacy, support, and resources under one roof.

This milestone reminds us of why this work matters and the impact that can be made when community partners work together to support victims and families.
