In celebration of everyday wonders, small and great

It took six months, but I finished Middlemarch, as evidenced by my absolutely wrecked copy. Takeaways: although he is toxic as hell I can’t help crushing on Fred Vincy. The political landscape of this book thoroughly escaped me but I very much appreciated the attention paid to class. I need more time to decide if Dorothea is admirable or exasperating. The opening and conclusion were both magical but i definitely got bored around page 400 but then the last 150 pages or so were very engrossing #middlemarch #georgeelliot #readingtheclassicsbychoice

Still thinking about this a week after the first gathering of my Middlemarch book club (we met in the middle of March obviously). Jamie isn’t on Instagram prob bc she is clearly a genius #middlemarch #smiths #howsoonisnow

Picked up two books I’ve been meaning to read for ages at the ever-fabulous Binnacle Books yesterday. Gonna read Middlemarch with the gals from my long-ago NYC book club, which will undoubtedly be the highlight of this dreary winter #bookclub #georgeeliot #middlemarch #independentbookshop
