Check out our new work on Technology, Transformation and Governance: Leadership in an Emerging Order, which was launched and discussed last week in London at the 2026 #Stratos EMEA Leadership Summit along with other key topics such as algorithmic systems and capital allocation, why the concept of growth has structurally changed in financial services, and the effect of sanctions and capital controls on global markets.

Our latest work is based on the conversations that took place at the Stratos India Forum in Mumbai, where 60 of the region’s most senior financial services leaders sat with policymakers, regulators and investors to examine what fragmentation and technological acceleration actually demand of an institution once the strategy papers are closed and the operating decisions begin.

We lay out these five immediately actionable imperatives for leaders in financial services in managing technology transformation and governance issues at this time of rapid economic, tech and political change, more specifically:

1. Leaders need to own the AI transformation by treating it as a business transformation and not an IT project, with explicit CEO and board sponsorship

2. Workflows during this transformation should be redesigned sequentially, prioritising a few end-to-end processes (lending, for example) rather than “massive change programmes”

3. Build adaptable and modular operating models now, rather than waiting until technology stabilises. This modular approach allows adaptation as tech evolves

4. Build for adaptability by prioritising organisational flexibility rather than focusing on any one technology stack, using a hub-and-spoke model for common platforms

5. Think globally from an India base by leveraging the country’s digital strengths for exportable global solutions

This is a second White Paper in a series produced through a partnership between Cambridge Judge and Bain & Company. As always an absolute pleasure to work with and learn from: Feryal Erhun, Jennifer Waller Martin, Jennifer Waller Martin & Tracey Horn.

One of the highlights of our University of Cambridge International Business Studies Trip (#EMBAIBST) is the field exercise, an applied, interview-driven investigation of how business, consumption, entrepreneurship, and urban systems operate in Mexico City, one of Latin America’s largest and most dynamic metropolitan economies.

After six hours of field work in small teams, our brilliant #GEMBA and #EMBA students have come back and presenting their key findings, super insightful (and what a fun day)!

PS! Maria Prus, Jennifer Waller Martin, Cicely Atherton, and yours truly did also do a mini field exercise where we visited the market, talked to the business owners and tried delicious tacos at Tacos Los Alexis.

Day 5 of our University of Cambridge International Business Studies Trip (#IBST) is all about Field Exercise in #Mexico! Our brilliant #GEMBA and EMBA students have just set off to work in small teams (matched with expert local guides) to engage directly with entrepreneurs, consumers, workers, and business operators across various neighborhoods of Mexico City (and across a range of topics from #entrepreneurship to #sustainability). This innovative exercise focuses on structured interviews, direct observations, comparative analysis, and cultural and institutional interpretations.

Let the fun begin!!

A big thank you for Michael Kitson, Madeleine Rauch, Lidia Mishchenko, Maria Prus, Cicely Atherton, Jennifer Waller Martin and the whole Executive MBA programme team for making this IBST another incredible experience for our students.

Night at the Museum!! 😍

What a treat to have a private tour of the Mexica, Maya & Teotihuacán Galleries of the Museo Nacional de Antropología after closing time!

The National Museum of Anthropology is one of the most important cultural institutions in Latin America. Designed by architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, the building itself is a work of art, famous for its central courtyard covered by “El Paraguas”—a colossal suspended fountain that recreates the atmosphere of a pre-Hispanic plaza.

This visit was part of our University of Cambridge Executive MBA programme (#GEMBA and #EMBA) International Business Studies Trip in Mexico City.

Thank you Novartis México for hosting us this afternoon, we certainly learnt a lot from our wonderful speakers:

🎯Sergio Galvez Oroz, People and Organization Head, Mexico

🎯Pierre Affaticati, Therapeutic Area Head, Oncology

🎯Jose Manuel Valledor Lozada, Excellence and Execution Head

🎯Garbine Nunez, Clinical Trials Head, Mexico

🎯Juan Antonio Rosario, Head of DDIT, US and Americas

🎯María Camila Vega A., HR Head, Mexico

covering everything from drug discovery, clinical trials, trade wars, and the rise in demand from the East, as well as why people is strategy.

As Novartis CEO Vas Narasimhan said recently: “The story of Novartis México is one of growth – but above all, a story of people. I recently had the opportunity to spend time with the team, and what stayed with me most was seeing purpose, focus, and talent come together to make a difference for patients. I left encouraged by the ambition I saw, and by the mindset of always looking ahead. That’s what becomes possible when teams are anchored in purpose.”
