When I look at my earliest days in the studio, I’m reminded of the intense hunger I had to pursue a creative path. I had no idea what it would look like, but I forged a way forward with whatever was in my hands at the time, both metaphorically and literally.

I could never have imagined that 16 years later, my life would feel so rich in making art and helping others understand the process too.

It took me almost a decade to figure out what felt distinctly my work. It’s been a labour of love. Nothing has happened overnight, from the growth of my painting skills to the beautiful studio I now call my own.

After a life altering diagnosis, and walking alongside family and friends through similar experiences, I’ve become more passionate about speaking openly about women’s health. People’s stories have always interested me in art making. Now, womanhood, friendship and the shifting terrain of our lives are subjects I’m drawn to with the same intensity I felt at the beginning: the feeling of a fire being lit for something I can’t quite see yet.

I hope what people recognise in my work is more than a growth in skill. I hope they see how life has shaped the paintings. I’ve always admired artists whose work is deeply connected to their own experiences, and I hope that those who connect with mine feel seen, and can exhale knowing there is beauty in what we share.

Hyrox Perth 2026 - Pro solo debut 1:08:39

- I stepped it up to play with the big boys in the pro division this year, not the greatest lead in to the race with a few niggles and even making the start line was looking questionable, but incredibly proud of the time I put down and know there’s more to give!

Big thanks to all my family and friends that got down to support, and all those who’ve trained alongside me and pushed me over the past few months!

As always, @boomfitness by my side the whole way and a special mention to @scottsgym_ and the weapons there that pushed me to new levels!
Looking forward to the next one, big things coming 💪🏽

Last week, for my 39th birthday I tackled 39 laps of Jacobs ladder in Perth - equivalent to climbing the Eiffel Tower twice, but up and down in 242 step increments, 18,876 steps, equivalent elevation to twice the height of the Burj Khalifa.

It sucked, but it would suck even more hitting a point where laziness and inactivity left me unable to do such things as I age.

I've been completely sober for close to 4 months, including sodas, sugars etc - the longest for everything properly at the same time since I was around 15, and I know this story is likely the same for many men in Australia.

It's not too late to pull your socks up, become who you know you can and should be, surround yourself with people on a mission and discover a version of yourself you've buried for too long.

I'm just a flog with a camera phone trying to stop making excuses. Excited for this new path and the people coming with me.

100/100 five star reviews ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m actually kind of speechless. 💜 (Mike here) To say this wasn’t on my bingo card when I started Folklore back in May 2024 would be an understatement. It’s been such an honour and a privilege to run these events and Folklore has quickly become one of my proudest life achievements.

This post is a little tribute to some of those wonderful people I’ve met along the way.

To share it with you, to share in your celebrations, to be welcomed into your homes, and in some cases to count you among my closest friends—it’s been a wild ride.

We’re four versions in, running more events than ever, and partnering with more people to do bigger things. The future is bright, and a big part of that is because of you.

It’s crazy to think 1 in 10 people who follow this page have now given it a five star review 😅😅 hopefully the word of mouth spreads far and wide enough that maintaining that ratio becomes harder. For now, I’m immensely proud of it. Thanks you all for being part of this journey you’re the best.
