Dominating in two sports AND in the classroom 👏

A standout for both Kingsmen basketball and track & field, Camden Hyde helped the hoops team capture two SCIAC Regular Season Championships while also earning All-Conference honors in the high jump. Alongside his athletic success, Hyde is graduating early with an outstanding 3.93 GPA as a Communications major, earning CSC Academic All-District honors and recognition on the Winter Allstate NACDA Good Works Team.

Congratulations to the 2026 Cal Lutheran Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, Camden Hyde!

Trust and Surrender. Two things the Lord has put on my heart this year. To really just let go of false sense of control I have and look to the Almighty in all outcomes, good or bad, as part of His plan for me. This required lots of frustration and confusion, but through that came much peace and joy knowing God is really holding me in the palm of His Hand.
“What other purpose has man than to do God’s will?”
God ultimately taught me that He is the one who has given me abundant gifts, and it’s my job to glorify Him through these gifts (basketball, school, relationships etc). I’ve fallen short countless times but praise God this year I was able to recognize how empty I am without his sustaining help.
The Lord says, “Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing… I have told you this so that MY joy may be in you and your joy may be COMPLETE” - John 15: 5-11

Thank you to everyone who came out to our third Christ Explored event! It was glorious.

Through coffee, conversations, testimonies, preaching, & singing—we learned we are made for friendship & there’s no friend like Jesus!

May the good news of Jesus, the friend of sinners, reach every college campus & generation.

It still hurts. No one hates losing more then me. I’ve been trying to figure how to describe the last 4 years of high school basketball. First thing I can say is how thankful I am. Since a little kid I grew up going to high school basketball games waiting for my time to come. It finally did and I couldn’t have imagined doing the things I’ve done and accomplished. Although I didn’t have the storybook ending I now am more hungry than ever. Thank you High school Basketball and everyone who was there for me.
